Estranged Yoruba activist Sunday Igboho who of recent was rumored to have fled the country following the attack of his residential home by Nigerian security agents, and was also reportedly granted safe haven in Benin republic seems to be far from the end of his travails as doctors who attended to his wounds and failing health after multiple days of torture from the Nigerian security agencies have reportedly agreed to use dog kidneys in place of human kidneys due to unavailability of donors.
This comes days after rumours of Sunday Igbos failing kidneys and liver led to nationwide outrage and condemnation of the excessive use of force on the Nigerian activist.
"When he first arrived he had sustained multiple physical injuries which we treated. But on closer observation we also noticed he had problems with some of his organs. We sent messages to his village and spoke to some his relatives and tribesmen who all denied knowing the activist. In order to keep him alive the doctors here have decided to use dogs kidney as it was recently discovered that humans could survive on some animal kidneys. But when the word got out, we noticed some of our neighbors who owned rottweilers have decided to take their pets indoors.". Our correspondent in Benin republic reported.
