How can you be this gullible to send the phone back to someone that lied to you that he didn't purchase the phone from M-kopa even after receiving message from them and the phone was locked.
I'll suggest you look for the details of M-kopa and their location and explain things to them possibly with the help of police, I'm sure they'll have her details. - Full name, phone number, BVN, account details, I.D Card, passport etc

According to her she stays at Igando axis in Lagos, I tried using Google find my phone app and that was the same axis I got from the search before she wiped the phone clean.
If eventually you have her passport photograph from M-kopa or her full name (with the help of Facebook, you can get her pics), you can Shadow-mark her in that area if you really want your money back.
If you nab her, she'll later pay for more than what she ate.


I was able to get hold of the phone IMEI number, and I plan on either tracking the phone or destroying it using the IMEI number.
If you run out of options, you can destroy the phone but then, I can help with tracking.

did you try reaching out to the dispatch rider you used in sending the phone back? At least he might know the thieves house.

And I think you should post the account details you made transfer to.

There are lots of ways to catch the culprit, go to mkopa office with the details, explain everything to them, I'm sure she used ID to collect the phone, mkopa has her address and next of kin.

On the 29th Oct. 2021 I made a search on Jiji and saw a galaxy A32 (2months old) for 90k (distress sale according to the seller), we agreed and she sent the phone to via dispatch rider, I checked the phone and it was ok so I transferred her money to her, after a day a message popped up saying the phone was purchased on loan from M-Kopa, I was bothered so I called her and explained what I saw but she said she didn't purchase it from M-Kopa, subsequently, the phone was blocked and she asked me to return it and be refunded but little did I know that she wanted to scam me, I returned the phone through a dispatch rider and till date she refused refunding my money and she blocked me, she stopped using the number I was contacting her with.

@OP write a letter to your bank explaining that you were scam and they should put a lien on the account, go to EFCC office and submit a petition.

With a little effort and money you can catch her*, show no mercy when you do. It has been established that mercy is weakness in Nigeria.

With a police report, your bank can get involved by either reversing the payment if they determine it’s fraudulent or by assisting the police with vital information that will help catch this person. I think should try to get this loser in the end, so he or she won’t keep playing the same sick games with unsuspecting victims. Good luck.
