Do you think that if Soludo was running under another party say PDP or APC, he could've amassed this number of votes so far?

Was the votes as a result of his party affiliation or good personality based on his presented agenda for the state if elected?

Please give unbiased opinion only

All over the world, every political party has a stronghold. Even in US, there are traditional Democrat or Republican States. Therefore, any candidate running on the platform of any party in its stronghold stands an excellent chance than the other candidates.

Anambra State is APGA's stronghold though PDP is also strong though its strength is whittled down by protracted factionalization. Therefore, it is a no-brainer that Prof Soludo with the well-run ward-to-ward campaign of APGA would have upper hand in last Saturday's election.

Nigerians are very simple and predictable.
Just look at this OP, if it was his APC that won, he would have been shouting on top high tension that his terrorist party was accepted in Anambra state but when the truth happened, which is total rejection of both the kidnapper and his APC he is trying to blackmail us.

My dear, we are not that easy to be held with emotions.
We have rejected bother APC, Terrorism, and the other brother PDP.

Thank you very much and God bless.

Soludo, atleast on paper, is an extremely well-sellable candidate warts and all. He built up a resume of egalitarianism and intellectualism over the years and that resonates with the people. He already had a name, so all he needed was a vibrant political party with strong structures to reach his political target. That's how APGA became a very convenient vehicle. He tried earlier with PDP but failed because although he had/has the name and maybe the financial support, PDP was in the opposition, had a bad reputation somewhat in Anambra with the maladministration of Mbadinuju, the abduction of Chris Ngige and the desperation of the Obasanjo led federal government to impose touts and killers as political heads in Anambra state in particular and the whole igboland in general...

So it's is a marriage of convenience between two solid factors; a strong political personality in one hand, with a lot of positively stunning resume and a somewhat pro-people grassroot political party that was relatively trusted by the indigenous people of Anambra state. Compare that to say my dear Imo state, where Rochas left the APGA party immediately after winning the elections with the party's structure, joined a janja-weed party from the Sahel desert, and in his mindless pursuit of the presidency, tried imposing his not too popular son in law as his successor, thereby alienating the majority of Imo electorates. That series of boneheaded actions ruined Imo state chances of extracting herself out of the evil grip of the evil federal forces and prepared the ground for the emergence of the blood gulping tyrant called Hope Uzodinmma today..

The rest is history..
