Details of the results announced by the Independent Electoral Commission, INEC, leading to the victory of the former Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, and candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, Charles Chukwuma Soludo, as well as how each political party performed in the poll, has emerged.

The returning officer for the election who is also the Vice Chancellor of the University of Calabar, Prof. Florence Obi made the announcement shortly after concluding the supplementary election in Ihiala Local Government Area which took place on Tuesday.

The Governor-elect defeated Valentine Ozigbo of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, that came second in the election and Andy Uba of the All Progressives Congress, APC that emerged third in the exercise.

Below are details of the results as announced by INEC, including the standing of all political parties in the election.

Registered voters: 2,466,638

Accredited Voters: 253,388

Total Votes cast: 249,631

Rejected Votes: 8,108

Valid Votes: 241,523

Nothing as sweet as having a popular candidate win an election. It gives a sense of accomplishment and belonging. The governor too will have a peaceful atmosphere cos he is working on a deserved and collective mandate! It will never ever ever ever ever ever ever ever be well with Barrister Tanko, late Abba Kyari and all those who threw Imo state into a backward state.

Hope Uzodinma, your sins will surely find you out. Whatever you stole from us in the morning shall be taken away from you 700 fold in the evening. Imo state is in the hands of God. To visit my dear state these days is a serious psychological trip..This too shall pass.

This guy deserves to be the president of Nigeria. He is one of the finest personalities we have in Nigeria. Let's Nigerians rise and support this man.
