Why Nigeria Must Correct The Wrongs Against Igbos by Abagworo(m): 10:17pm On Jun 06, 2011
A lot has been written about the secession attempt by Igbos and so-called Igbo coup but little has been written about failure of the successive regimes to correct several ills done against Igbos after the war.The most prominent that has continued to cause a lot of internal and external crisis is the balkanization.This was done to weaken the place of Igbos in the economy of Nigeria and make it seem like they have no oil.This campaign aimed at removing Igbo identity from anything oil has only but succeeded in Ikwerre area of Rivers state.The reason is obvious and has to do with Port-Harcourt.

The other non-Ikwerre groups have found themselves split in several states and hence make their oil production useless to their people since they are minority in each of those states.I think it would be best if a State is created where they are merged.The Ndoki are the worst hit because they are quite a small group with very large oil reserves split into Rivers,Akwa-Ibom and Abia.

My fellow Nigerians what do you think is the best way of correcting this wrong?

@poster
Why is this news to you?
Everybody knows that most parts of Igboland with crude oil was carved out and merged with either Rivers or Cross River states by Justice Nasir, both as a punishment for the Igbos, and as reward for the people who won the war.
