Southerners have also been charged with treason, sentenced to death and executed. Some of the people that have been charged with treason have been executed, while some have been pardoned. It's usually easier to get pardon under a civilian government.

The rule of coups that everybody knows is that people who plan successful coups usually become heads of state, while those whose coup plots fail are usually executed. (Though Emmanuel Ifeajuna was not executed by Nigeria, even though his coup failed, but he was eventually executed by Biafra for allegedly planning a failed coup).

It's always been the same regardless of if the person is a northerner or a southerner.

In that case, all the political office holders from those states should be added to the quota for the south.

Atiku Abubakar is from Adamawa. He has served as vice president. Therefore, from 1999 till 2007, a southerner was vice president. Admiral Murtala Nyarko is also from Adamawa. That means the chief of naval staff in the early 1990s was a southerner.

Atiku should be the next president because he is a southerner!!!

Yakubu Gowon and Ibrahim Babangida are from Plateau and Niger States. That means that the south has ruled Nigeria for a far longer period of time than the north.
