With the broujaha as to what constitute NDDC, I think it us time to scrap the commission. The commission has not benefited Niger Deltans rather it is embroiled in one controversy after another, hence the need to scrap the commission. According to Senator Adeola Olamilekun , Ogun, Lagos , Kogi, Bauchi and even Bornu are now oil producing state. This is good.
Now how do we compensate oil producing states? Simple, in place of NDDC, let each state be responsible for their oil, explore, sell and retain 13% of the proceeds and pay balance of 87% to the federation account. That way, Ogun, Kogi, Bauchi and Bornu would be compensated based on their production sharing ratio. The idea of using backdoor to reap where they did not sow would be defeated. This is what our senators from South South should be arguing, not whether Bauchi or Kogi should be included in NDDC.

Why should they keep only 13% and pay the rest to federal government?

When they pay you salary, do they take 87% away from your paycheck as tax?

Nigeria is just a weird country

There is a difference between the Federal Govt and Federation Account. All states, federal and LGAs share from federation acct
