Introduction:
Lack of safety in organisation will lead to low output, productivity of staff and eventual collapse of an organisation. When an organisation losses one to two staff as a result of industrial accidents, the workers become scared to work in such an organisation. Apart from reducing productivity, the entire staff may loose confidence in the management to adequately protect them.
This workshop is aimed at creating safety conscious managers in organisation who are well equipped to reduce the rate of industrial accidents to the barest minimum. The knowledge acquired in this workshop, will greatly contribute to the reduction of needless loss human and material resources due to preventable accidents.

Workshop objectives:
The objectives of this workshop are to enable the participants:
• Develop and adopt modern techniques for early detection, prevention and control of industrial accidents that result in injury or death.
• Improve the general efficiency and performance of industries through accident- free industrial operations
• Reduce the level of ignorance among workers as to likely causes of industrial accidents, health and fire hazards in the factory premises and their prevention
• Develop a good mental attitude toward safety programmes.
• Exchange ideas and experiences in industrial safety.
Workshop contents:
• Safety audits
• Risk assessment and hazard analysis
• Investigation and accident reporting in safety management
• Appraising employees’ attitude towards safety
• General principles of accident prevention
• Industrial fires: causes , hazards,  prevention and control
• Prevention of work related and occupational diseases
• Work place hazards and prevention

The workshop is designed for engineers, technologists and all those working in manufacturing industries, power, steel, oil and gas industries, petro-chemicals, etc.
