A USB audio interface is one of the easiest ways to record at home. Due to their simplicity, bus-powered plug and play interfaces are oversaturated.

Finding the appropriate piece of equipment might be difficult with so many options available at such low prices. Focusrite's entire Scarlett USB interface line is impressive.

They've upgraded their third-generation model to accommodate all the newest advancements and innovations since they originally hit the market. It has two independent channels and no recording limitations. You can record as many tracks as your DAW allows one at a time.

The Focusrite Solo 3rd Gen has a metal chassis like its predecessors. Its tiny size and basic design make it easy to handle at home.

Each input channel has an XLR and a Hi Z TRS connection for any microphone or electronic instrument.

It has the company's latest preamps. It captures high-resolution audio at 24-bit/192kHz for professional-quality recordings.

On the first channel, you can mic up vocals, acoustic instruments, or an amp. The preamp can handle high input volume if your mic is capable. It has a lighted Halo LED gain dial. To see if you're going to distort, the dial changes from green to red.

The XLR input also supports the company's innovative Air technology. The Air function opens up your vocals by focusing the equalization on higher frequencies, which is ideal for capturing acoustic instruments. This is optional and is accessed by a button with an LED indicator.

With the phantom power button, you may utilize a condenser mic with 48 volt phantom power, just as the Air button.

The secondary channel is for 14 inch jacks. It has a gain dial (with Halo LED indicators) and an instrument button. This offers it additional headroom to handle high-output instruments and hot pickups, allowing it to transition from a line-in to a guitar/bass channel.

On the front panel are a huge monitor level dial and a front-mounted headphone output with a direct monitoring button. This allows you to switch between monitoring via the left and right line-outs and headphones.

The whole thing is lag-free. The gadget is extremely low-latency, so you can build busy tracks in your DAW and sing over them.

To help beginners, the Scarlett range sells a number of accessories to expand your recording horizons. The offers change frequently and depend on the source.

All Focusrite purchases include access to the Focusrite Plug-in Collective, a collection of plug-ins from industry leaders.

Summary

The Focusrite Solo is a good option for a low-cost home setup. You may start learning all the trade secrets for near to nothing.

With phantom powering, the Scarlett Solo 3rd Gen offers a simple 2 in 2 out interface. It also offers Air for your XLR channel. This Audio Interface provides high-gain preamps, professional audio resolution, and low-latency direct monitoring.

It's well-built, easy to set-up, and comes with a value-added package of plug-ins.
