"After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Matthew 6:9"

Jesus Christ did not want the disciples of his day and those of today to pray amiss so he gave a format for prayer. First of all, you need to acknowledge God as your Father; meaning you need to have a personal relationship with him. Secondly, worship and praise him, and welcome his presence. Thirdly, ask his will to be done in your life as it is in heaven. Fourthly, ask for your pressing need especially your daily provision. Fifthly, forgive all who have wronged you and ask God to also forgive you for your sins. Sixthly, pray for his power of deliverance from evil and temptation. Finally, ascribe praise unto him. When we about to pray we should have all these at the back of our mind, especially worship/praise, and thanksgiving before our request; as we do these in faith and receive in faith every prayer we make will be made in joy.

Our father who lives in heaven:

God is the father of all creations so before raising your eyes towards the heavens make it your objective to love and care for all because God the one you want to approach in prayer is the father of all both those you view as enemies or friends! Matthew 5:43-48

May your name be sanctified:

God's name must be made holy {John 17:6, 26} in your words thoughts and actions that name must always be the one to receive the praise for all the good things people see in you! Luke 18:19


May your will take place on earth as it is in heaven:

God's will is for mankind to become one big and happy family of peace loving worshipers {Isaiah 2:2-4} of the one and only true God {John 17:3} So in everything you do make sure that this is paramount in your heart! Matthew 6:33-34

Your spiritual eyes must be simply focused {Matthew 6:22} not on unlimited wants that comes with excessive material possessions rather you should be contented with the basic necessities of life {1Timothy 6:8-10} and teach others around you to do the same otherwise what goes around comes around! Luke 12:16-21

Forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who offend us:

God doesn't give us marks for our wrongdoing {Isaiah 59:12} He freely forgave our errors so we must also learn to imitate Him before we can be rest assured that our own errors He will discard.
