I don't agree with you. Starting from Kirchhoff's law, you can pretty much finish the task. Star-Delta Tx is only another method one can use. Kirchhoff's law is so fundamental, it's all you need to solve the problem. Only you may have to deal with a set of simultaneous equations

I’m telling you. Just use resistor in series and in parallel. It will finally result to a star or delta network and you apply the nonsense formula and final answer emerges.
