All this admission and all others related delay issues only affects those in the southern Nig, once your UTME result is OK you admission is sure and year of graduation is certain at the North

Nigerian model, Favour who fought for admission for 6 years rolls out red carpet as she graduates

A Nigerian model and beauty queen, Favour Umeike who fought for university admission has rolled out the red carpet in celebration as she finally graduates.

Queen Favour Umeike who is the reigning Most Beautiful Model In Nigeria graduated from Biology department of Ignatius Ajuru University of Education, Port Harcourt Rivers State.

The gender advocate who could not hide her joy took to the social media to express gratitude to God for an academic journey that ended successfully.

She wrote, "Certified Graduate
"B.Sc.Ed Biology bagged☑☑☑
"2nd graduate of Benjamin's family‍‍
"All thanks to God
"Dad and mum, I'm forever grateful
"6 yrs of Admission Fight + 4 yrs of His grace in school= 10yrs product of greatness"

She has since flooded her social media pages with pictures of her and friends engage in celebration galore after her final exams.

She is expected to participate in the mandatory one year national youth service.

Recall that thousands of admission seekers have in recent times been frustrated with unfavourable policies of government in education sector, making it difficult for such candidates to secure admission immediately after their secondary education.

Apart from multiple tests they are subjected to after JAMB, the issue of region remains a determinant factor before students are offered admission to the higher institution.

With the recent introduction of National Identity Number, NIN as a compulsory requirement for admission seekers who wish to sit for JAMB exams, there are speculations that many, especially in the rural communities will be schemed out, a development that may truncate their dreams.

Certainly. The competition down south is more than up north. Besides southerners unlike before don't want to go school up north because of the insecurity.

In sane climes, universities scout and come for bright students, in Nigeria, we FIGHT FOR ADMISSION!
in saner climes you read and study hard to enter college or you don't get admitted, you can spend a dozen years applying and they'll keep turning you down, common sense should dictate to you that if she was bright she wouldn't have any problems with admissions

You lots like saying things you don't know, in the west if you don't study your ass out and pass Thier exams you won't enter any reputable university,if you like try for a dozen years, do you know how many people get rejected in John Hopkins, havard,UCLA etc yearly 90% of Thier applicants get rejected.

1.We don't know her JAMB score or WASSCE result or post UTME results...to make a determination if she is academically bright.

2.Struggling to get admission is a worldwide thing, not a Nigerian thing (In countries like Japan for example, it is expected that one would fail his university entrance exam the first time...they are that hard).

3.She probably struggled to get her 'dream course' but did not get the marks needed, or she took a while to get the marks needed

4.Nigerian university system has too many students chasing too few places. (That's why we have private universities in the first place...JAMB was grumbling back then that they could not admit every successful applicant)

5.She was a beauty queen and a model...which in itself is hard work (most pageant winners are expected to spend the next one year doing all sorts of work for the pageant organizers which can take up time, and leave little time for studying for exams). Plus as a beauty queen she prolly had an NGO...another round of hard work.
