The IPOB lawyer, just confirmed that the freedom of Nnamdi Kanu the Freedom fighter, is in the allegedly dead Buhari's hands.

Aloy Ejimakor, Special Counsel for the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, has said that the release of his client lies in the hands of the executive arm of government headed by the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd).

The PUNCH had earlier reported that some respected Igbo elders, led by Minister of Aviation in the First Republic, Chief Mbazulike Amaechi, visited Buhari in Aso Rock in Abuja and requested the unconditional release of Kanu.

In response, Buhari had said, “You’ve made an extremely difficult demand on me as leader of this country. The implication of your request is very serious. In the last six years, since I became President, nobody would say I have confronted or interfered in the work of the Judiciary

The Attorney General of the Federation has the powers to stop the trial forever and he owes nobody any explanation. Section 174 subs 1 to 3 grants the AGF absolute power to discontinue any criminal proceedings before judgement is delivered. So, Nnamdi Kanu should be released immediately through the instrument of Nolle prosequi. AGF, over to you.
