Treadmills have been used for a very long time, but they have gone through many different designs. They were first used to help treat hospitalized people who had pneumonia because walking was thought to be a good form of exercise for sick people. Later, treadmills were designed so that everybody could use them at home and in the gym.

They are quite inexpensive and easy to store when you're not using them, but they can also simulate walking and running. As technology advances, the treadmill designs become smaller and more affordable so that people can have them to use often.

What to look for in a good treadmill?

*How comfortable it is. A good one should have lots of padding on the belt and handles.
* Belt size- make sure they fit in the space you plan on placing it in, whether that's at home or in a commercial gym.
* Weight capacity- how much weight can it hold? If people in your home or gym exceed that weight limit, then you will need to have a stronger treadmill
* Effectiveness of workout- what kind of workouts can you do on the treadmill? Will you be able to run speed intervals? Can you run up hills? Will it be able to support running on it several times a week?

How much are treadmills?

The cost of treadmills varies greatly. They can range from $300-$10,000 depending on what they have to offer. The reason they are priced so high is because they are made well and they last for many years. Some treadmills can even fold up so that they take up less space in the room where you are using them, which is usually an added bonus when purchasing a treadmill.

Where to buy?

You can purchase treadmills online, in sporting goods stores, or department stores. They can also be purchased at fitness centres.

What is the future of treadmills?

As time goes on, treadmills will become more advanced. Newer treadmill designs are interactive, which means they can connect to your iPod or MP3 player through an audio plug-in. They are also designed with a widescreen where you can watch your favourite TV show while using them.

Treadmills themselves will get more advanced because of technological advances in other products. Some future designs might be adjustable so that you can change the settings depending on how tall you are. These new treadmill designs will also have better suspension systems to give a more comfortable running experience.

Conclusion
Treadmills can be a very expensive piece of fitness equipment, but there are many cheaper options available depending on your needs. They are ultimately the best tool to help you on the path to becoming fit. Treadmills designs are well tested and proven to provide benefits to any user.
