The annual subsidy is One Trillion, Eight Hundred Billion Naira (NGN 1,800,000,000,000.00) only yeah?

Take away the subsidy and introduce Five Thousand Naira (NGN 5,000.00) per person, per month for Forty Million (40,000,000) persons (the so-called poorest of the poor... lol) i.e NGN 5,000.00 * 1 month * 40,000,000 persons = NGN 200,000,000,000.00 only multiply by 12 months; It will amount to Two Trillion, Four Hundred Billion Naira (NGN 2,400,000,000,000.00) only.

So the FG will spend at least Six Hundred Billion Naira only (NGN 600,000,000,000.00) to remove subsidy? Not forgetting that the price of PMS will increase by 100%, so transport fare will definitely increase too.

If we are initiating new policies/strategies, do we initiate them to make the system/country better or worse?

Please, help make clarifications; maybe I ain't seeing the bigger picture.

Total Fuel Subsidy removal is the best.
Marketer's will hide fuel during christmas and increase the price but will collect their full money from government in the name of subsidy.

The big picture you didn't see was that the monthly N5,000 monthly transport allowance for 40,000,000 people will be only for a maximum of 12 months.. After 12 months, the allowance will stop. Although, I'm sure that money will be embezzled. But since its for just 1 year, it's not that bad.
