Chapter One

Principal Emeka Akpasibor, stood no higher than 5feet, a fair skinned, beefy man whose grey hair were as visible as sands on a desert, round fat eyes with little pupils that denoted his saint hood a big nose that laid in between two equally big lips.

His sense of fashion was appreciated only by folks of his age rank, sleeves that threatened to swallow the entirety of his hands and trousers that never seemed to hide his ash colored stockings dipped in cheap leather sandals.

"Good morning everyone,"

His usual ritual came with a pause after which he cleared his throat and took a sinister and quite threatening stare at the senior students who never seemed to be in order on the assembly line; the
real miscreants of Osejuh High School if you will.

"Good morning sir,"
"Good morning stamp"
"Good morning ma"

The degradation of what would have been a reply could go on if allowed but Principal Emeka never gave room to such.

"...Good morning students, How are you all doing, as you all are aware, Teacher John has left us for some weeks now owing to a visible and physical disturbance to the rhythm that has produced quality and superb students,"

He paused and noticed the silence which was unusual especially from the senior sides but again this were the same set of students who had shocked the entire teaching staff over the positive influence Teacher John had impacted on them, the same set of students who won the state's quiz competition, the very action that brought Oseju village to lime light and into prominence, the very action that earned them their just concluded road project by the state's government.

The rumors had been true, Teacher John had returned back to the city and Oseju had suddenly and returned to its dark days, under staffed always, over populated and inadequately trained staffs had been the proverbial bone stuck in his throat.

But last weekend had brought quite unexpected news, good news if you may call it.

"I am pleased to announce to you, we are having a new teacher to fill in the void left by Teacher John..."

He paused and swiped his head like a lizard would towards the direction of its interest which also, did the senior students.

His eyes communicated his confusion as he waited for something - someone who had suddenly seemed nonexistent.

He rubbed his clear shaven jaws to show his bemusement, Teacher John's replacement had already been informed over the weekend, it was essential that this introduction was done as ceremoniously as it could - it had to, it was the icing on the rock solid sour tasty cake which of course was the announcement of the village elders latest decision on school fees payment.

Now he thought about it, he hadn't seen Eze in school at all.

But there was no time for small talks or thoughts.

Broomh....Broomh........Broomh!!!

The deafening sound of Eze's motorbike made a gun shot sound like an alarm bell even more confusing was the misdirection of where exactly it was coming from making a few students scamper for safety even Principal Emeka had dived down the elevated stone slab for safety.

"Make una no vex oh, nor vex!!!"

Came the dry coarse voice that killed the sound of the motorcycle coming to a rest form somewhere within the school's compound.

He stood 6feet, black as coal and ominous sharp red lips that stood out even from the distance.

He wore a brown polo on blue jeans with sandals.

Slim, Dry skinned, clean shaven head that reflected the morning's sun rays , a long slim nose , small eyes and heavily moustached jawline.

"Who is that?!"

"E be like say na teacher oh"

"Idiot, Its a lie, I think he is a post man"

"Shut up and listen, Na teacher this one go be, see as poverty dey show for e body, na teachers dey dry like this"

The discussion between Biggie and Kamah, the two accursed empty heads of the ssII had quickly recovered from their hiding position to dismantle the mystery that was the newest and latest teacher.

Will he be good, will this teacher be troublesome, would he do something better than his predecessor.. Only time will tell.
