Reciclando Histórias, the book was developed since 2005 from the first count of people living on the streets in São Luís made by Semcas, and from this project the public was led to participate in handcraft workshops with recyclable materials.

In July of last year, Semcas carried out the mapping of the homeless population in the capital of Maranhão and tracing the social profile of these people, currently more 600 people live on the island's streets, a new stage in the project that consists of including the homeless population in the labor market, through the development of entrepreneurial activities, The “Reciclando Histórias” will be coordinated by the specialized service for the homeless population and counts on the participation of services for family and institutional care for productive inclusion.
