Herbephe1:

It shall be well with you. I'm a Muslim, but I wanted to join END-SARS protest in kaduna then, but my iman mentioned that protest is Haram in Islam. But I'm really surprised about this development..

Analyst7:
If those students were kidnapped they won't urge any protest
Terrorists triggering potential terrorists

It depends on who is doing the kidnapping. If it's a Christian group the kidnapped Muslim girls, MURIC would would be ready to tear the country down. But if it was a Muslim group that kidnap little girls (Muslim or Christian)for sex\rape, you would not hear a whimper from them.

The hypocrisy of this game is that non of you had criticised the school for banning what supposed to be personal things to the Muslim women alone.
Now you are blaming the oppressed whose rights are trampled upon.

Nigerian christain has a plenty ways of looking for Muslims trouble.
Just like they trample on the rights of Moderate Christians, traditional worshippers and atheist by banning the wearing of bum shorts, spaghetti tops and sleeveless shirts on campus.

Why does he go free with all this hate-full statement?
And
When will his position tenure in muric be over

Seun:
As reported on Nairaland in 2017, the Federal University Of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) banned the niqab, which is an Islamic dress that covers the entire body of a woman except her eyes. The reason for this was obviously to ensure that people on campus could be identified. They didn't ban the hijab, which covers a woman's face and neck, or the chador, which covers a woman's entire body except her face.

Recently, a former student of FUNAAB came to the university dressed in a the niqab. The security men insisted that she must remove her face-covering veil before she could enter university. Subsequently, the university confirmed that the niqab is banned at FUNAAB.

Now the Muslim Rights Concern, a very important muslim rights organization headed by Professor Ishaq Akintola, is challenging the niqab ban at FUNAAB. According to him, the niqab ban violates the freedom of religion guaranteed by the constitution, which says "Every person shall be entitled to freedom of ... religion ... to manifest and propagate his religion or belief", so it's illegal.

He said, "No institution of learning, from primary to tertiary, whether federal, state, or even private, has the right to prohibit the use of hijab or niqab. It is a contravention of the provisions of Section 38(i) & (ii) of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as amended. To that extent, therefore, all anti-niqab pronouncements, memos, circulars, posters, etc issued by FUNAAB are null, void and of no legal effect whatsoever. Same goes for all such declarations and actions in other academic institutions throughout Yorubaland."

He provided a possible compromise to address the security concerns: "if the authorities are not just keen on profiling Muslims, all they need to do is to ensure that Muslim women wearing niqab or hijab are checked by female security personnel. Their identities can also be verified by female officials who will take them to one side and take a look at their faces and cross-check on their identity cards."

He called for muslim students to take action against the niqab ban, saying, "FUNAAB has crossed the red line. This oppression must stop and Muslim students have to take their destiny in their hands or the humiliation will continue ad infinitum. From now on, any institution in the South West that messes up with Allah-given fundamental human rights of Muslim students will face the wrath of the students." (peacefully)

MURIC doesn't say to Buhari protest is Nigerians' democratic right on other occasions but supports the chief executive terrorist on any wrong step so far it favours islamism. Neither will this urging be seen as inciting the students against public peace, and law and order. Which kind professor be that?

UPDATE! UPDATE!! UPDATE!!!
The Executives of FUNAAB Muslim Community and MSSN met with the Principal Officers of the University led by the Vice-chancellor, today Monday 29th November 2021. After a lengthy discussion, the following were the excerpts of the meeting:
1. The University Management unequivocally dissociated itself from the picture tagging Niqob as indecent dressing.
2. The Principal Officers claimed that they were not aware and did not direct any officer of the University to re-erect the billboard after it was removed in 2017. The Vice-Chancellor promised to unravel the identity of whoever might have pasted the poster and immediately directed the CSO to commence investigation. The Vice-Chancellor rose from the meeting to inspect the billboard at the gate and the removed offensive banner.
3. On the existing University dress code that prohibits any dress that obscure face/physical identification; the Muslim Community reiterated it's earlier position that niqob is part of Islam and niqobites be allowed to move freely on campus while they would be ready to identify themselves wherever and whenever required in line with national and international practices. The University Management premised the need for identification on the prevailing security situation in the country. The Vice-Chancellor promised to take the policy on dress code back to the University Senate for reconsideration for peace to reign.
4. The University Management assured the Muslim Community and MSSN that no Muslim student will be victimized by any university staff (academic or non-academic) on account of religious beliefs.

If truly Professor Ishaq Akintola,is a professor they ought to strip the professorship off him because as a he's making this owe thing look like they are targeting Muslim were as they Christians is still there too and nobody is saying anything about it.so what that professor is saying is that Muslim is more important than any other religion and they are themselves as superior

apparently you misunderstand me.

it goes both ways for me. economies with less focus on 'religion' thrive. every street & cranny in Nigeria today has at least a mosque &/or a church, yet ee struggle as a nation.

Leave religion. Embrace Truth.

Have a drink with me?

The hijab, niqab, chador and what have you are all cultural and not religious practices. The Quran never even mentioned hijab and only recommended modesty in dressing for women. Whatever is not mandatory to and inevitable for the practice of any religion cannot qualify under Section 38 of the Nigerian Constitution.

Sometimes MURIC goes about the Section 38 as if it is only for a particular religion. Have you envisaged a situation where Traditional Worshipper students want to come to school with amulets, head bands, body paintings and other regalia recommended by their religion?

Muslims want people to believe Islam is a religion of peace and yet forment trouble and disrespect to constituted authority in the name of the same religion. Can you imagine how it would be if our female miliary officers insist on hijab and niqab as part of military uniform and the men insist on wearing long bushy beards? And then other religions join in with their own attires and practices in the name of Section 38 and religious freedom? Would it not lead to chaos and disorder everywhere?

Section 38 of the Nigerian Constitution is not a call to disorder and rebellion and MURIC should stop trying to use it to support Hijab! Every single case that has been won by Muslims on the hijab issue in Nigerian Courts is based on the erroneous and unchallenged assumption taken as fact that hijab is mandatory to Islamic practice.
