Divine Ikubor popularly known as Rema is a reputable musician who never ceases to amaze the majority of his fans with his melodic voice and consistent type of song. Ever since he jerked into the world of music he has become one of the most sought-after singers. However, I will be writing some interesting facts about the singer below.

1. His Stage Name is an Abbreviation

Many fans don't know REMA stands for “Redefining Everything Around Music”. This symbolizes that the 21-year-old singer has a great taste for uniqueness so he could stand out amongst his contemporaries. Although, his parents-given name is Divine Ikubor his nickname has paved way for the fastest rising singer in the industry.

2. He Hails From Benin

Rema is of Nigerian descent, from Benin City, Edo State where he started singing in churches before finding his way into a bigger sphere of music. The singer has made this known severally during interviews with media companies.

3. He Lost His Dad & Brother

Rema lost his biological father when he was only 8 years old and his brother when he was seventeen. The singer confessed that it was a terrible experience for him because he had to struggle and take care of his mother all alone. However, the singer had only become stronger over the years.

4. He Was Discovered On Instagram

Rema was discovered on the microblogging platform known as Instagram by Don Jazzy after he did a freestyle to Davido, D’Prince, and Don Jazzy's song titled “Gucci Gang”. Ever since his discovery, he had continued to soar higher due to his unique style of song.
