Jack Dorsey on Monday November 29 2021 announced his resignation as the CEO of Twitter and was immediately replaced with Parag Agrawal as the new Twitter Chief Executive Officer. Prior to his appointment, Agrawal was the Chief Technology Officer of the company.


Jack Dorsey in an email, said Parag’s appointment was done after the board undertook a rigorous process considering all options ‘’ to appoint him the new CEO.
He further added ‘’Parag has been behind every critical decision that helped turn this company around. He’s curious, probing, rational, creative, demanding, self-aware and humble. He leads with heart and soul and is someone I learn from daily. My trust in him as our CEO is bone-deep.

Who Is Parag Agrawal
Parag Agrawal is an Indian-American tech executive born in the early 80’sin Mumbai, Maharasthra, India. His father held a senior post in the Indian Department of Atomic Energy while his mom is a retired school teacher. He had his early education at Atomic energy central school. He obtained his B.Tech degree in Computer Science and engineering from IIT, Bombay in 2005.


After that, he moved to America for his doctorate degree in computer science. He joined twitter in 2011as an engineering specialist in artificial intelligence and machine learning. In October 2017, he was promoted to the position of Chief Technology Officer (CTO) a position he held before he became the Twitter new helmsman.
He has previously held leadership positions at Microsoft Research and Yahoo Research. He is married to Vineeta Agrawal who is a general partner at Andressen Horowitz also a physician at Stanford medicine. They have a son.

Parag Agrawal at 37 is set to become the youngest CEO in the S&P 500 companies elbowing Mark Zuckerberg of Facebook who previously held the position.
