But RepublicReport was first to report that not only did Babangida kill many innocent people, he sometimes killed double agents that worked for him, he, Babangida is also alleged to be a CIA agent. Reports alleged that IBB also recruited Orji Uzor Kalu as a go between agent for IBB and CIA during 1980s Nicaragua WAR in Latin America when US Congress caught funding to fight US secret wars in Latin America including Nicaragua, Panam, without the approval of the US-Congress.

Very colourful post. However, until concrete evidence is found, everything is based on conjectures,

And to think some folks want us to continue with these people in the Council of State. Una never ready to be free.

Is Aliyu Muhammed/ Muhammed Gusau not the perennial National Security Adviser that was earlier suggested to GEJ?

Anyway, True or Not true. I'm convinced Dele Giwa did not murder himself and IBB and OBJ are not enemies. They all became stupendously rich on "army and civil service" salaries. That is enough to worry us.

^^^^

I quite agree, I just dont think he is wholely responsible for everything, There are other characters as well and Nigerians deserve to know who the are.

^^Right. If you were alive and aware during the Abacha era, you won't find all the stories he told too strange. The same actors are still alive. Gusau is still as powerful as ever, Omenka is still at large probably in Brazil and reading Nairaland with a margarita and a chuckle. Plus, no government since 1999 wants to release or even end the "trial" of Al Mustapha and Jail him for something specific.

So yeah, they are not alone and I don't think we will get Justice for Nigerians both dead or Alive very soon. Unless we get a popular uprising that will dislodge the old order and their proxy "new era" political-billionaires.  undecided

Nigeria is ripe for a revolution, a marked shift from the politics of the past. The only problem is that no one is willing to stake their lives for it.

^^Not really about fear of death. No country has a monopoly on bravery. I believe it's because we've not suffered enough.

We have oil, and while it does not affect the lives of many people, it still trickles down somehow to sustain an ignorant middle class. It also creates massive wealth for a few. People see that and hope they will get there too. Everybody preaches that in Nigeria. I see Nigeria as a weird kind of "welfarist-capitalist country" sustained by public corruption and oil money.

But more importantly, we have a massive poor class which survives mainly on informal subsistence farming and locally grown food. Most of our staples are locally grown and widely available and unaffected by fluctuations in world food commodity prices. Cassava(garri, eba) Yam(elubo and co) and cheap meat from the North, Niger, Chad and Sudan.

We will need to get to a stage where the available sources of staples can no longer sustain our population and people's daily needs, then we get scarcity and a very hungry and angry people. Hungry people are very brave.

It can happen faster if oil price crashes(think alternative sources of energy) and we are no longer able to sustain our underpaid largely unproductive middle class or outbid other countries for the other stuffs we import.

Hungry people are generally not scared to risk it all.
