Nigerians pay multiple taxes. Is the level of thievery in Nigeria same as in those countries you are extolling? In Nigeria people pay taxes down to the buses they board; the bus drivers are taxed heavy amounts at intermittent bus stops, fees which they transmit to the passengers by hiking price. The only thing not indirectly or directly taxed in Nigeria is the air people breathe.

The state government taxes your shops, then the local government also comes to do the same. Please if you don't understand how taxes work in Nigeria, at least in Lagos, be civil and not insult us.

Read Facebook and zoom's statement, they ain't paying from their profits, because they are already paying tax in their respective countries (where their headquarters is located) which is actually the only legal way to pay tax as a company...

This new tax(vat) is actually being paid directly by the users which is Nigerians not Facebook or zoom, if government ask them(Facebook and zoom) to pay tax, they will jejely fold up in Nigeria because they can't pay tax in two countries, Google it..

So directly or indirectly, Nigeria government is actually taxing it's citizens for using Facebook and zoom..

You're not so bright. Why will Facebook and Zoom pay from their profit? It's a VAT. It applies to those spending money on Facebook and Zoom. Newflash!!! Nigeria must take on lots of debt to develop like the rest of the world. We need revenue to service the debt given that most Nigerians don't pay taxes. The system is not set up for the majority of Nigerian individuals and small to mid-size companies to pay taxes so one of the best ways is consumption taxes like VAT which targets the people that are doing relatively okay. If you're spending money on Facebook ads or premium zoom then you must pay your fair share to develop the country.

This is why a lot of Nigerians struggle to cope with situations in foreign countries. They are used to not paying for anything. 7.5% VAT is nothing. Some countries pay 25%.

What this dumb government doesn’t know is that we don’t use Nigerian cards to run shiit , is it with the the $100 monthly spending limit on Nigerian bank cards that we will use to run Facebook ads?

Anyone advising this government should let them know they won’t see shishi! Most Nigerian card payment for international transactions get declined! We use USA VPN with US cards!
