What this dumb government doesn’t know is that we don’t use Nigerian cards to run shiit cheesy, is it with the the $100 monthly spending limit on Nigerian bank cards that we will use to run Facebook ads?

Anyone advising this government should let them know they won’t see shishi! Most Nigerian card payment for international transactions get declined! We use USA VPN with US cards!

The response to this news is illustrative of how daft most Nigerians are. Your country has a severe revenue problem. Your country has one of the lowest tax to GDP ratio in the world and you are complaining that taxes are being applied to Zoom, Facebook etc. How do you expect to develop your country without revenue? The saner climes that you clowns idolize charge taxes on everything be it sales tax, property taxes, federal taxes, state taxes etc..

A so-called Genius talking like an illiterate.

WHO IS PAYING FOR THE VAT? The helpless Nigerians (some of the most poorest people on earth with no jobs) or those established companies?

You people just sit and write stupid things

Another privileged individual who didn't read nor understand, coming online to insult Nigerians. Nonsense!

Nigerians pay multiple taxes. Is the level of thievery in Nigeria same as in those countries you are extolling? In Nigeria people pay taxes down to the buses they board; the bus drivers are taxed heavy amounts at intermittent bus stops, fees which they transmit to the passengers by hiking price. The only thing not indirectly or directly taxed in Nigeria is the air people breathe.

The state government taxes your shops, then the local government also comes to do the same. Please if you don't understand how taxes work in Nigeria, at least in Lagos, be civil and not insult us.

The guy is very stupid. Didn’t even know you had replied him.

Thanks

Those companies pay taxes in their countries why not Nigeria.
do u have brains atall?,so if facebook is asked to pay tax from its profits in Nigeria, the next thing is to shift the burden on Nigerian users...at the end of the day,is Facebook paying any tax or nigerians are paying it,haven't you paid that vat in the recharge you are using to subscribe?.

Hope you realize that these companies pay taxes for their overseas operations to the countries where their headquarters are.....a good example is youtube.....meaning if you make a video here in Nigeria YouTube will take out of your money to pay the u.s government, not the Nigerian government, and this is outside other taxes they already pay......so why should the Nigerian government not get a cut......fu*k these guys even if it shifted to the Nigerian users let them pay taxes in Nigeria end off.

You speak as if the government will base their tax collection on your card transactions....lol....they will go straight to Facebook and who will pay them based on transactions run in Nigeria.....so if you like get your card from India that's your problem.

Oga more than 70% of Nigerians don't pay their income tax and find different ways to avoid other taxes......we no dey pay tax but we all want life to be good and for the government to draw mana from heaven, but when they open up new channels to draw taxes you start insulting them....SMH.....hope you realise that Facebook does not only make money from Facebook ads placed in Nigeria.....they also bill international entities a shit load of money to sell you Ads and other products, that the real money the government is after, Nigeria is the biggest African market for these tech companies and it's about time we started earning from it.
