Dear Nairaland Programmers,

It is not rocket science to develope a blackberry application for nairaland. Its a global competetive environment we live in now with ICT as a driving force. In order to remain relevant you need to move with trend. Don't be left behind. Its bad for business + we(NL users) deserve/need it. We hope you look into our humble request.

NL is an online community which is owned by a PRIVATE entity. Perhaps you should write to the owners of NL.

A Nairalander developed a desktop application and a chat application for nairaland and nairalanders respectively, He did not even make the front page. Imagine that. His works were overlooked. So why should one bother about developing a blackberry client for Nairaland? What API? Is he getting paid? No.

You're thinking like an Alien it just ain't realistic.

Thinking is easy and I'm very good at it. But most things are easier said than done. That's the problem.

You are alright Seun. But why can't we start?

Sample on Android Emulator:

I wouldn't call this thinking. Its just stating the obvious.

Real thinking will be designing a BB app that works and will match NL in Google revenue.
Give me a call Seun et al, when that's figured out.

How would the mobile app be better than a mobile site? See http://wap2.nairaland.com/
Re: Dear Nairaland Programmers, by Afritelly: 2:07pm On Jun 28, 2011
@Fayimora: I have added ur IM username to mine. Is it okay?
Re: Dear Nairaland Programmers, by Fayimora(m): 2:08pm On Jun 28, 2011
To be honest I just think its all abut class. take a look at these 2 statements.

1. Nairaland has a mobile site
2. Nairaland has a mobile app.

Forme the second seems cool and although not every mobile fone would be able to use the app, others can stick to wap browser and before you know it another group would emerge ready to develop another app for a different platform. Thats where open source comes in.

Nigerians in general are funny set of people that always want to some thing a have 100% of it. i reality this is not possible.
most of the World inventor just create things without any hope that it will reach the top.
the inventor on electric bulb made 990 experiment to achieve that in 25 years i think
without waiting for anybody to tell him IT WILL NOT WORK or PEOPLE WILL NOT BUY IT emmhhhh
