Akwa Ibom State Host Global Brand of Carol Night.

The return of Carol night is set to take place on Friday 17th December 2021 at Ibom hall along IBB avenue Uyo - Akwa Ibom State. This is content in a press release by the committee ably represented by the commissioner of information and strategy Iniememobong along side with Sir, Raphael Edem SA to Governor Udom Emmanuel on Public Affairs at Nigeria Union of Journalists Press Center - Uyo.

It would be recalled that the maiden edition of Akwa Ibom State Carols festival started in 2008. Since then it has become a global brand with a world superlative economic breakthrough and spiritual rejuvenation to mankind.

The statement disclosed that, it is a return, because this festivity had seized to exist last year 2020 as a result of ravaging coronavirus pandemic which affected the global world including our dear state. Therefore, this year as a state, we shall return to give all the glory to God for staying alive.

The statement reads, the state will be in the eyes of the world again with the return of the Akwa Ibom Christmas Carols Festival. However, the event, which was awarded the Largest Group of Carol Singers in the World by the Guinness World Records in 2014, returns this year.

The theme for the 2021 Carols Festival is “THE RETURN” and is drawn from the the bible verse Isiah 51:11 (KJV), “Therefore the redeemed of the Lord shall return, and come with singing unto Zion; and everlasting joy shall be upon their head: they shall obtain gladness and joy; and sorrow and mourning shall flee away”.

It is on record that, from inception, the Akwa Ibom Christmas Carols Festival was conceived to enhance the spiritual rejuvenation of the state and people, and after 12 successful editions, that purpose of the Carols Festival has remained undefeated. As a people who have been largely preserved from the fatalities that rocked the world in the heat of the covid-19 pandemic, we are returning to thank God for his blessings to us as a state and a people it said.

The release stated that, for the first time in the history of this event, we will be having 2 Guest Ministers this year - the Senior Pastor of The Potter’s House Church from the USA, Bishop Thomas D. Jakes and the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye. The 2021 Festival will feature a predominantly Nigerian line up of renowned gospel music ministers including the legendary Panam Percy Paul, and other award winning gospel singers like Tim Godfrey, Dunsin Oyekan, Ada Ehi, Aity Dennis, Bobby Friga, David G, Ema Onyx, GUC, Progress Effiong, John Bassey, Patience Ekwere, Uduakobong Akpan Jnr etc.

It also stated that, the choirs performing at this year's edition include the globally recognized World Record Mass Choir of the Akwa Ibom Christmas Carols Festival. The World Record Mass Choir in this edition will feature 5,000 out of the 25,000-strong choir. Other choir groups that will perform this year are the host choir, the Akwa Ibom State Government Choir, The Promised-Land Chorale Int’l, Intenxity and the Ibom Orchestra.
Another special appearance and the only non-Nigerian performer will be the multi-award winning South African DJ and musician, Master KG.

So many questions have been asked, namely: what is the economic value of the Christmas Carols Festivity? With the phase three Omicron Coronavirus that is said to be spreading what's the possible measures put in place for this exercise?

Indeed, the questions begging for answers might come to know that Akwa Ibom State is the eye of the world, a destiny place to be, with Ibom Airplane, the only reliable and topmost newest airline in Nigeria which many shall be flying into Akwa Ibom State for this exercise that alone is a huge economic value to the state. Hotels shall be packed filled to the capacity of the private sector. It shall be a very important market day in the wonderful vicinity of Uyo and it's environ as our citizens shall make their big time monies to the tune of appreciation, this will translate to the better economy value.

From the research findings so far, proverbs 22: 4 states that the reward for humility and fear of the Lord is riches. This is so firmly true that if you humble yourself and pray this day your reward will be riches. Sir Raphael Edem posited before the press, that all entrance to the event center is clipped with security protection, that everyone entering the venue will go through disinfection point where one would be screen for safety purpose.

The release cautioned that we must place on record the unwavering commitment of His Excellency, The Governor of our dear state to the successful hosting of this event. This is exemplified in his consistent all-round support to this religious cum tourism event. We are also grateful to our partners for this year, Fidelity Bank and Zenith Bank, for their support.

The release is quoted to have said. "Gentlemen, with the kind approval of His Excellency, Governor Udom Emmanuel, the 12th edition of the Carols Festival will be hosted at the 55,000-sq. metre Ibom Hall Arena, along IBB Avenue in Uyo by 6pm". Therefore, as Akwa Ibom State is set to Host A global brand of Carol night the release invites top government officials across the globe , international and state professionals as well as allied associates to come and share in the spiritual blessings of our land.
