South-East must produce next president, Edwin Clark insists

Chief Edwin Clark, the leader of Pan Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF), said the South-East must produce the next president of Nigeria.

He said this when a presidential aspirant, Sen. Anyim Pius Anyim, visited him on Friday.

During the visit, Chief Clark reaffirmed his passionate “belief that the presidency of Nigeria in 2023 must go to the Southern part of Nigeria and indeed to South-East zone”.

He encouraged Anyim to work hard with other leaders across the country to build consensus for equity and unity in Nigeria.

Clark said: “I encourage you and others to continue the task of persuading and reassuring other Nigerians to share that vision”

Anyim, however, told the elder statesman that he is running for the Presidency of Nigeria because he understands the challenges facing Nigeria and has what it takes to fix them.

The former Senate President who is contesting for the Presidential ticket of the Peoples Democratic Party took the opportunity to consult with Clark on the state of the nation and his plan for the future.

He said: “I thank God that Chief Edwin Clark will soon be 90 years old and yet he is blessed with phenomenal memory, lucid and curious mind, a benevolent heart, and boundless goodwill for all men. I thank God for your health and will forever cherish your counsel.

“I will dedicate myself with full enthusiasm and conviction to advance the vision of equity in Nigeria, the unity of our nation, the peace and prosperity of all citizens.”

The truth is ,are we Igbos ready for the task? Because obviously we are not.We can't get the top seat through entitlement mentality. We must actively canvass for support among all the ethnic groups in Nigeria.
Though many Igbos are agitating for Biafra, the ones against it and hoping to get presidency to the SE are so dull, don't even know how to play the game of politics properly to get the support they desire.

Fight for what?

To be CEO of a failed, drowning company whose LAST CEO plummeted to the ground?

We only need Biafra. To hell with your presidiot nonsense. If you need help you tell us how much you'll sign Peter Obi to salvage Nigeria small for you.

Unity beggars. cheesy

I don't know why i felt that any politician from PDP who is nursing presidential ambition without first going through selfish Governor Wike is just wasting his time. In as much as Governor Nyesom wike is concerned.....hmmm! He weighes a considerable influence through the power of bribery. Wike doesn't believe in equity and fairness if not, he wouldn't have been the governor of Rivers state today despite coming from same ethnicity as the previous Governor Chibuike Amaechi.

I am very sure that Governor wike is either interested in the presidency too or he might selfishly sponsor his friend Tambuwal so as to be his running mate.

No doubt Governor wike is a great administrator, he blocked all financial loopholes in Rivers treasury and has refused to give the go ahead for civil service to recruit and fill over 10,000 vacant positions since he became the governor, neither has he approve of civil servant's promotions. Yet, every year, over N5Billions are budgeted to take care of the proposed recruitment and promotions of existing staffs. Wike is the Richest Governor in Nigeria, He knows how to run government for maximum profitability at the expenses of poorly remunerated civil servants.

In all essence, what i am trying to say is that the efforts of southeast zone to produce the presidency will be thwarted because of Governor wike's selfish inordinate desire to run either for the presidency or vp

Hmmmmm, Edwin Clark again!!!
grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin

Igbo should know that this is a TRAP!

Edwin Clark is the worst Igbo hater on earth. He is angling for Tinubu in APC Vs. a silly Igbo stooge in PDP! So that Edwin Clark and treacherous men like him could play his betrayal politics to the silly naive Igbo candidate of the PDP who trusts Clark and men like him. grin grin grin

Only APC can guarantee a southeast President now because it holds all the paraphernalia of federal authority to do it.

If the PDP wants to totally lose out in 2023, it should zone its presidential ticket to the south in 2023. The ONLY chance for the PDP to regain power is to zone its presidential ticket to an acceptable northerner. An upright man who is acceptable to both the north and the south.

I DONT KNOW WHICH STATES IN SW THAT WILL VOTE A SE MAN OR WOMAN.

THAT IS HOW BAD THINGS ARE BETWEEN IGBO AND YORUBA WHEN IT COMES TO POLITICS.

THE MIDDLE-BELT CANNOT BE TRUSTED, THEY ARE ABNORMAL.

EVEN WITH ALL THE FULANI KILLING TAKING PLACE THERE, THEY WILL VOTE ANOTHER FULANI CANDIDATE LIKE THEY VOTED BUHARI OVER GEJ.

Are Benue, Kogi, Taraba no longer part of Northern Nigeria, the Almajiri headquarters?

So the Ijaws, Benins you guys have been attacking unnecessary are the same people you are expecting to vote for Igbo presidency.

BENUE, TARABA, KOGI AND KWARA WERE NEVER NORTHERN NIGERIA.

AZIKIWE TRADED THEM TO THE NORTH, SO THE NORTH CAN HAVE A MAJORITY AND REMAIN IN NIGERIA.

BELIEVE IT OR NOT, THE NORTH NEVER WANTED TO BE IN NIGERIA.

THEY ARE ONLY HERE FOR THE SPOILS.

YEAH! THE BRITISH USED HIM VERY WELL TO ACHIEVE THEIR AGENDA.

WHAT I TOLD YOU IS A WELL DOCUMENTED HISTORY.

SIR AHMADU BELLO WANTED THE NORTH TO LEAVE NIGERIA, UNLESS THEY WERE GIVEN A MAJORITY IN PARLIAMENT.

NNAMDI AZIKIWE AGREED TO HIS DEMAND AND PARTS OF SOUTHERN PROTECTORATE OF NIGERIA JOINED THE NORTH, ON THE CONDITION THAT THEY REMAIN IN ONE NIGERIA.
