Generally true. But in the last six months, i haven't used my generator more than 4 times. Power relatively stable, plus i know when they will take it and I have light every night till 6am. 1 Like |

NothingDoMe: There is so much troubles with light in Nigeria that we are just in limbo today! It's unfortunate that light is now scarce because we played with Nigerians emotions or that Nigerians love it that way! From OBJ to Jonathan and the present govt, Nigeria should have forgotten anything called power failure by now but because we love Politicians, tribal sentiments and religious biases,we remain in one spot while other Countries are progressing! Why did we not allow General Electric to be one of the Discos,at least to give other Discos a challenge?-because we were playing local Politics with the future and the end result is darkness! Quality and constant light will rapidly brings the needed Industrialization! When the present govt came and many Nigerians said the Discos and Gemco Contracts should be looked into for review-' ah no, it's a contract' and who says bad contract can't be repudiated? That is Nigeria! We all love as things hardly works here and we even pollute the Foreigners working here by our internal-Corruption methods and we want Nigeria to be better! We are not serious and we are not discipline! Certainly, some people are benefitting from the darkness in Nigeria and it includes those sponsoring importing generators as business, for they went to Ghana to open Shops and after 3-months no patronage, they closed Shops and ran back to Nigeria, for Ghanians are celebrating decades of stable light in their Country! That is where all those Business and Companies that closed Shops in Nigeria rellocate to due to availability of light- including Mitchelling etc. No generator in Ghana and even Cotourno- Benin Republic! Can the present Discos and Gemco arrangements give Nigeria the needed INDUSTRIALIZATION( 24/7 and 365 Days light- without Off and On- a blame game is now shifted to NERC(Nat.Eletr.Reg Com)? Otherwise, the World is already Flying because they are generating their energy( Elon Musk Car Production) readily comes to mind! -Nigerians are dynamic people,if there is constant light, many Industries will spring up- afterall, most of these mobile Phones Production we import is done because of regular light and through try and error we get up and running! -Unemployment will drastically reduced! - Many Research and Development will come alive in Nigeria, for instance- DSTV,GO-tv are all services, selling into Millions of Nigerians homes from South Africa- no oil here! -So,why can't each State in Nigeria generate and use their own energy and possibly export the excess as Revenues even to others States! -Political action is what we need and many States are just lazy as they are benefitting and being spoon fed by Federation Account Money- but for how long will Nigeria continue to be in darkness and run by generators? Imagine Chicago (City of Light) in darkness for 30min! Imagine New York - in darkness for 20mins.Imagine City of London as Financial Institution of the World goes in darkness for 35min,even Accra-Ghana is already proudly now 8th Biggest Economy in Africa! It's just too shameful and we cannot continue like this! It is wicked for us not to do what is right, yet we traveled to Dubai,Paris, etc to enjoy and use our scarce foreign exchange (dollars),when we can't fix our Country's problem like light! The World will not fix Nigeria for us,the earlier for us,the better! So we moved! It is well with Nigeria! 1 Like |

InoGetJoy: Our budget for this year is around 28 billion dollars. You want to spend all that money on just one power station? We're still having energy crisis in this country simply because the successive useless governments we've been having don't want to fix the power issue Nope because we all treat power like it is supposed to be free of charge. That's not how it works. |

This is not news anymore, Even a toddler knows that it is over 80% rated. But that as not answer my questions, when topic of this calibre gains attention on public platform like this, it should come with suggested and lasting solutions that will see an end to the problem. In as much as we all know that this administration, and their sister's in politics are all monumental failures and as sabotage the existence of the country, then the needed as to be done to savage the country from the hands of rogues and cannibal because I have never seen a country that prospered either without a great leader or a popular revolt. Indeed, this country will continue to fail, come 2023 no one should expect a miracle. The structure this current leadership is running is outdated and outrightly bad and they knew it that is why they kept the pple poor, leaving them to wallow in abject poverty and not to enjoy Thier divided of democracy which is their citizenship right. The problems of Nigeria are Nigerian's and his solution are right here in Nigeria. |
