It is only frustrated and poor people with no hope of tomorrow that speak evil of men of God. It is a curse to speak against anointed men of God. It is not your business to judge them. I want to correct a false belief. Men of God don't live on tithes. If Pastors and we xtians are not rich ,what then is our proof that we serve a living God. If your pastor is not blessed, what testimony does he have that will make you hope in God, These men of God are simply using biblical principles to create wealth. The Bible says in 2nd chronicle 20 vs 20 that your prosperity lies in the mouth of your prophet. My Pastor is the number 1 giver in my church. His tithe is more than that of any church member. You ask what he does? He is a strategic businessman, yet he preaches twice on Sundays, and also conducts mid week services,
In my personal analysis of people that speak evil of true men of GOD, I found out that they are poor, frustrated, unemployed, lacking in vision, unbelievers, and those under family curse and demonic bondage.
My dad is a retired pastor in CAC, It was God blessings that made him to send 6 of us to the University with a salary of less than 20,000 per month. Our last born graduated as the best in his dept three years ago, Today we are all blessed and doing well. This is the warning guys, You can't speak against a true man of God and ever proper.
I have been blessed under the ministry of Pastor Ashimolowo and Bishop Oyedepo. These are men of God who are shining lights to this world, The anointing you respect, you attract. If wealthy ,educated, and influential people of this world have brought themselves under the anointing of these men of God, i wonder why someone with nothing will only critizise, Well, it doesnt take intelligence to speak evil of men of God.

How do you know who a real annointed man of God is ? If I started a church tommorrow, would you consider me an annointed man of God ?

If you think it easy to start a church and have souls attending, Pls go and start one.
True men of God are known by the fruits they bear, If God does not call you and you want to start a church, you will end up being a failure.
Bro,If unbelievers can be rich, how much more the men of God,
How many will pray to pass through the trials these men of God passed thru.
You have not seen anything yet in the kingdom of God, If Coca cola could spend billions of dollars on advertisement, I believe we need to spend far above that in propagating the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.
This is the era of wealth transfer in God's kingdom, You better sow into the lives of the true men of God and proper, or you condemn them and be cursed for life,

bankylan:

1. If the "unbelievers" that you mentioned can be wealthy without sowing into the "true men of God", why then should a believer sow into their lives?

2. condemn them and be cursed for life?,  who decreed this?

3. how much did the "missionaries" that brought the gospel into our lands spend? Is the word of God not powerful enough to resonate itself that it needs earthly money for assistance?

Lastly, Did God tell you these individuals are his Men? How did you come to the conclusion that they are Men of God?

How many have used that title and we later found out that they are "wife-beaters", "Child-molesters", "Fraudsters" , "mass murderers", "hate-instigators" and so on.

Are we to believe any tom, dick and harry that uses that title?

If they are "men of God", What are we then? Children of the devil?

I wonder what your perception is about blessings and wealth as a Christian, and if its only about the money and the flamboyant life styles that some so called spiritual leaders and Christians engaged in then am sorry, you might be wrong. Take some time to understand what Paul said in the book of 1 Cor. 15:19 "If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable"(KJV). The Good word translation said: "If Christ is our hope in this life only, we deserve more pity than any other people". So if Christianity is all about i am richer than you, i have the best cars etc. that means we as Christians are so wrecthed and should be pitied. Think about it, there are alot out there that never believe in God and are materially rich. But my brother, the Faith we have is so rich and much more above the riches of this world, being in Christ is the best a man can have.

I hope you or anyone in this forum will not get me wrong, i will and can never support TRUE men of God being accused wrongly, it is unscriptural and I will not even be a party to Judging. But it is important for us to understand the difference between Judging and exposing the unfruitful works of some so called men of God. If we take time to read our Bible well, there are several warnings about false prophet etc. As a matter of fact some were even described as having the power to cast out deamons in Jesus name and do wonderful works, yet Jesus made it clear that they were not for Him. Where then will you put that? If you hide under the umbrella that exposing unethical and unspiritual works of some Pastors is evil, am sorry, the damage that will be done will live even after we are all gone.

Long story short, i try making a case in my earlier post and i will implore you to read through and also implore others in the forum to read it too. Its long but i assure you there is something in it. The bottom line is all Christians in the house should challenge themselves to know God more, let us start walking in TRUE LOVE. Lets be very concerned about the POOR, the SICK, the ORPHANS, WIDOWS, and as many has are HELPLESS around us. Reach out to them in love, give to them for those are the "JESUS" we see.

By the way: Having money and being rich is good, it is part of our inheritance as Children of God, it is just the love of it that should not be encouraged. I personally am doing very very well and i owe every bit of it to Jehovah

bankylan and other friends!
I want to make a point here before i leave, like i mentioned earlier in my first post, blogging like this is not my thing but when i stumbled on this discussion, i felt passionate i should share my view. I was listening to a lady on CNN lately and she made a statement which interest me and will like to share before i make my comment:
She said: "I have Faith and not Dogma, Faith can handle questions when its being asked but Dogma cannot. Dogma sees questions as threatening and snaps at the appearance of it".
I want us all to think about that. I believe if we are walking truely in FAITH, we should not be afraid to answer questions. We should not feel threatened and immediately turn to the popular scripture: "Touch not my anointing". I implore that we should present our cases objectively. Our Bibles are there, it can easily be juxtaposed with the unethical behavior that is being exposed in this forum.

My Comment:
Don't let us be quick to assume everyone that is found on the Pulpit is a man of God my church included, and because a Pastor is rich (most likely through the congregations giving) and has thousands of members does not still certify him as a Man of God. I am born again and proud to voice it any day, i forge towards perfection everyday but even when i fall short and if someone identifies it and tells me, i will be happy for it and not says he/she is jugding me.

Take a look at this link below: http://www.articlesbase.com/politics-articles/redeemed-church-pastor-erastus-akingbola-to-surrender-68-million-to-intercontinental-bank-pastor-adeboye-4811186.html#axzz1PSPw7xwQ

That is a good example of the "so called" men of God, he is a Pastor, obviously pastoring a mega church, now he is in the hands of EFCC from the story and as a matter of fact UK has already slamed his account. Maybe we should approach the UK goverment and tell them: "Touch not my anointing". The point is if we talk like this, it shows that we have not really received Christ, what we practice in Nigeria is religion just like the Pharasis in the days of Jesus.

Another example is a Pastor i just read about now, i can't really even say much about him but just from this links below, it was obvious that his actions were act of the flesh and not God. And please read the book of Deutronomy 18: 21-22 after or before you read the link below and make a conclusion for yourself

See link: http://www.cp-africa.com/2011/02/04/pastor-bakare-god-told-run-buhari/

In all and again, i implore all of us to seek Jesus truly, not for those flashy things but for the heavenly glory that awaits us as a believer.
Shalom!

Religion is the opium of the masses. I have been a harbinger of the dangers of religion in Nigerian society. This is just more evidence of the falsehoods of these religious ideologies and the detrimental effects on Nigeria society. Why would I give some pastor a share of my hard earned $/N, when there are numerous charities that are more effective in adding value to the lives that need it most? While the pastor and his goons are housed, traveling overseas for medical treatment, educating their kids etc I wallow in poverty waiting for god to solve my problems, Pure stupitidy and the members of such churches deserve to be exploited.

The God of the universe, our God almighty is the owner of all the wealth.

Isaiah 40:12 "Who hath measured the waters in the hollow of his hand, and meted out heaven with the span, and comprehended the dust of the earth in a measure, and weighed the mountains in scales, and the hills in a balance?"

If you understand the statement above, you will discover that our God almighty is the owner of the universe, and I believe he included all the crude oil and gold during the measurement.
Those that serve God, to the tune of capacities of those pastors mentioned, can not but become the richest.

Pastor kenneth copeland is the world's richest pastor, but because wealth and riches are normal things in the advanced world, you can't hear them talking like this about their pastors.
Countries like Nigeria, poverty mentality has erroded our sense of living in the highest level of affluence. We don't even think it is possible.

Even devil gives money to those that serve him, but not to what God can give to those that serve Him. Because, the one devil gives he stole it, he is a thieve so he can't give as the owner of the wealth will give.

Just try and begin to serve God the way these men of God do and see if you will not buy 5 private Jets tomorrow.
You have not seen anything yet, God is going to bless His own kids to the tune of $200bln, the entire world will come to Nigeria to learn how to serve God.

Will you become God's kid today? submit yourself absolutely to His authority today and worship him in the spirit and in the truth and see what God will do in your lives.

Youths of Nigeria, turn to God whole heartedly and be as rich as our pastors.

See let me tell you a secret, Mfonobong Nsehe, is used by the devil to spread this propaganda.
How do I know? The devil knows that if you serve God with all your heart, you will be richly blessed and devil doesn't want that, he rather prefers you in hell.
So he set up people like Mfonobong Nsehe, to spread the lies about examples of people who rightly serve God and God blesses them in return and disuade you from doing the will of God. And as you do the will of the devil, your life becomes rotten and you ended up in hell, seekenah

God bless you.

@Bioscom
Am sure, whoever started the post most likely did it out of the frustration he had seeing people homeless, miserable and forgotten while we have the spiritual leaders of the same people wallowing in affluence. I will not really refer to him as being sent by the devil but like have been saying in my previous post, lets see it as a wake up call for Christians to do what is right at all time.

Yes! Gold and Silver are God's,  the bible said, but He has not given it to us for ourselves alone but to affect lives out there. We are not expected to preach the word alone, but by practicing or following it with actions -"LOVE". Am not against a Pastors being rich and am sure whoever started the post most likely do not mean that.  But what are we doing with those riches?, are we using it the way God has commanded us to?
You might be making a mistake saying that in the developed world like America where KC lives, "You can't hear them talking about there pastors". Its because Pastors behaves themselves and must comply with the law of the land, if they don't its Jail. They have to be accountable. You can't take church money and use it just like that on yourself, if they do, the law is no respecter of anyone even if Mr President messes up they will bring him down. By the way, KC was already wealth before he got into ministry. As a matter of fact, he was a top hit artist in his days. I will compare him to Michael Jackson if they were to be singing around the same time. So the point here is he is a rich guy and investing his money to now become the richest pastor in the world shouldn't be a surprise to us.  As a matter of fact he would have gone to Jail if they had found anything dirty about him in some allegations in 2007.

Integrity and accountability is the key to us not being looked down on as a Christian and i will say it start from me and everyone. Let us remmeber to live like Jesus lived, Though rich, He was humble to death.

Thanks

After in d old testament people were required to offer sacrifices to God and this was a sheep(they were required to bring d best of their flock) and d priest was d one acceptin this on behalf of God, do u think he shares the meat with d poor after d sacrifice? NO he ate them with his family. Am sure some people then refused to give because they were happy with d priest eating the best of their flock(YOU). So it none of my business what d pastors do with d money its not my money anymore

This tithing/offering isue is a delicate one. Whatever is said here, all i can contribute as a member of the body of Christ is that.
If a church is very rich becos members are good tithe payers.
If the church has less need of the money like in, the church has everything in pla e for fellowship etc.
I think the Men of God should us the left over money to do these things listed below. It will please the heart of God to see that His Money is been spent wisely for right purposes.

Shouldn’t these so called “men of God” be helping the needy and the helpless? Why can’t they use the money to run hospitals, free schools, motherless baby homes, community development programs, recreation centers, shelters for battered women, borehole projects in rural communities, or anything to make the less fortunate believe that God is there to take care of him or her?

I visited a maternity ward in a specialist hospital recently when i visited home, infact, my heart was heavy with pains.
The place smells bad and no light see new mothers sweating and some couldnt settle bills to get discharged.
These people are sure members to the church of Jesus christ and yet they are in such a bad state "Poverty" shouldn't be found among Gods people. Let Gods money be spread among the poor in the church.
Nothing is to small in terms of need. I knew this from that day of my visit.
May God give us the heart to look out to those that are suffuring. The church has a great role to place in this case.
If the church is Christ like, then let them prove it. Moses with the children of Iseal is a good example. He will please them first or else they will almost stone him. His arm was to make the people have a life that God wishes them to have.
If we claim this place we are is not our home so why having so much while others around u ve nothing? Have we ignored that Jesus has gone to prepare a place for us? Our pastors should look into this erse and share they wealth(tithe/offering) to the real needy. God bless all tithers.

Not all pastors are rich, many are still praying to God to meet them at the very point of their needs, if God now bless them, many will come to nairaland and start saying what they know nothing about. Please, and please, we are insulting the annointed men of God,it is not fair. You were not there when they were suffering, were you? So why are you judging them, now that God has favoured them. In this case,SILENCE IS GOLDEN. God2man.

No one has ever criticised a preacher for being rich. What we condemn in all ramifications is when a so called 'annointed' man of God uses the gospel/church to enrich himself and to make matters worse starts spending the money in a flamboyant and Vulgar manner. A pastor following in the foot steps of christ would NOT focus on amassing wealth for personal aggrandisement whilst millions of brethen around are suffering. Jesus told us that by their fruits we shall know them.
Re: Nigeria's Pastors 'As Rich As Oil Barons' by PastorKun(m): 7:26am On Oct 09, 2011
Several years ago, a preacher from out-of-state accepted a call to a church in Houston , Texas . Some weeks after he arrived, he had an occasion to ride the bus from his home to the downtown area. When he sat down, he discovered that the driver had accidentally given him a quarter too much change, As he considered what to do, he thought to himself, 'You'd better give the quarter back. It would be wrong to keep it.' Then he thought, 'Oh, forget it, it's only a quarter. Who would worry about this little amount? Anyway, the bus company gets too much fare; they will never miss it. Accept it as a 'gift from God' and keep quiet.' When his stop came, he paused momentarily at the door, and then he handed the quarter to the driver and said, 'Here, you gave me too much change , ' The driver, with a smile, replied, 'Aren't you the new preacher in town?' 'Yes' he replied. 'Well, I have been thinking a lot lately about going somewhere to worship. I just wanted to see what you would do if I gave you too much change. I'll see you at
church on Sunday.' When the preacher stepped off of the bus, he literally grabbed the nearest light pole, held on, and said, 'Oh God, I almost sold your Son for a quarter.' Our lives are the only Bible some people will ever read. This is a really scary example of how much people watch us as Christians, and will put us to the test! Always be on guard -- and remember -- You carry the name of Christ on your shoulders when you call yourself 'Christian.' Watch your thoughts ; they become words. Watch your words; they become actions. Watch your actions; they become habits, Watch your habits; they become character. Watch your character; it becomes your destiny. I'm glad a friend forwarded this to me as a reminder. So, I choose to forward it to you - my friend. God bless you. If you forward it, you wld have ministered to someone today.

Sir, why don't you go and investigate all these churches and find out if this personal aggrandisement is true, what if this assumption is wrong. Every assumption is the mother of all blunder. SUFFERING BRETHREN. Should we remove suffering from christianity? The answer is NO. NO CROSS, NO CROWN. Without suffering,we will never make heaven,it helps us to be humble, compassionate, and the rest. Stop judging them. Go to their churches, find out the truth about how they manage their finances,i am sure, if all these allegations are true, people ,both the poor and the rich will not be rushing there every sunday en masse. Let us not forget that this same Christianity was brought to us by the Whites in those days, have we sat down to really think on how those folks preached it? They were not leaving like Kings yet they are Kings. They brought us Schools, gave us education, clothed us, built hospitals for our sick, and when they opened there mouth to tell us that Jesus is Love, we never needed to look too far. Their lives have shown it. Saint Peter Primary School, Saint Bernard Secondary School, Adventist Hospital etc. were in the community where I grow. The money paid to enjoy these facilities can never be compared to the investment. Look around you these days, virtually all the Churches including mine have a school yet a very large percentage of the members cannot afford it.  You will look at a brother who is an assiduous worker in the vineyard of God and what you see written all over his face is Poverty. But for the hope he has in Christ, he would have given up. And this is the same churches that will use billions to build camp grounds, use millions to build chapels and use millions to ride in big cars all in the name that our God is a big God.  Have we read about Solomon in the Bible and how the queen Sheba gasped seeing the man’s servants the way they were well kept and in wealth (2 Chronicles 9). Can we look at the life of Moses as he led the Children of Israelites – the man cannot even eat until the Israelites have eaten.

This analysis of yours had actually hit the nib on the head, am afraid you may be tagged ANTI CHRIST
