The Speaker of Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Aniekan Bassey has lauded Rt. Hon Idongesit Ntekpere, member representing Ikot Ekpene /Obot Akara State Constituency at the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly for his love for his people by empowering them regularly.

Mr Bassey made the commendation today at the Martha Udom Emmanuel Development Centre, Ikot Ekpene during the Constituency Briefing and Empowerment Program organized by Rt Hon Ntekpere.

The Speaker who led members of the 7th Assembly to grace the event said, Hon Ntekpere has proven beyond a reasonable doubt, why the people of Ikot Ekpene /Obot Akara LGAs voted him back to back to the House of Assembly for a second term alluding to the fact that he deserves another chance to lead in a higher capacity.

"We are in numbers today to show solidarity and support for our brother and colleague, Rt. Hon Idongesit Ntekpere because he has shown capacity both in the Assembly and here in his constituency, outside his three cardinal responsibilities as a lawmaker.

"He has been giving back to the society through what we are witnesses today and as such, he deserves another chance at a higher level"

The Uruan lawmaker commended the people of Ikot Ekpene /Obot Akara LGAs for their unrelenting support to the state Assembly and the government of Governor Udom Emmanuel which have practically given birth to the dividends of what the people are enjoying today.

The empowerment which was launched by His Excellency Mr Udom Emmanuel ably represented by the Chairman, Ibom Power Ltd, Engr Etido Inyang witnessed a donation of eight minibuses, three motor vehicles, 21 motorcycles, business support fund, six years rent for lock-up stores for small and medium businesses, educational grants, Keke, tippers and sponsorship of skills acquisition training, among others.
