This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success (Joshua 1:8).

The Lord Jesus said in Matthew 4:4 that

man shall not live by bread alone, but by every Word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.

By that statement, the Master acknowledged the importance of physical food in keeping the body alive, but placed greater premium on the need to feed your spirit with the Word of God. Man is a spirit, and his human spirit feeds on the Word. Just as the body requires energy generated from food to function properly, your spirit needs the Word of God to remain healthy, vibrant and function effectively.

This is where meditation plays an important role. (There are) three levels of meditation: the first level being when you quietly ponder or muse over what you heard or studied in the Word, that word from God that inspires you. The second level is when you begin to mutter the Word. At this level, your lips are moving; you’re talking the Word under your voice, like a soliloquy.

The third level of meditation involves talking out loud. Sometimes, it might become necessary for you to shout or roar the Word! This is for the purpose of drowning other contrary thoughts or imaginations in your consciousness that seek to bring doubt and unbelief to your mind. That way, you dominate your consciousness with possibility thoughts of God. So what you do in order not to disturb those around you is to find a secluded place where you can be alone and then pray and shout as much as you want to.

Dear heavenly Father, thank you for enlightening me on the importance and benefits of meditating on your Word. My profiting is appearing unto all today, and my success knows no bounds, even as my victory over all of life’s circumstances is guaranteed, in the Name of Jesus. Amen.
