Many Northerners are of the mind that the SW has benefitted enough under this administration, and have already had the presidency, additionally the North is looking for a Northerner who will have the North's interest at heart as the North is the most chaotic and insecure as we have ever witness.

A politically savvy Northerner can use the fissures and divisions in the south to get the SS/SE block while having home field advantage in the North. This is something that the SS/SE politicians cannot guarantee as Presidential candidates. So if APC goes with the SW, it will spell their doom as PDP will go with a strong Northerner from the NC or NE, and then a VP from the SS or SE to clean up and politically isolate the SW to just their enclave of voters.

It is a chess move, where everyone wins. The NC or NE will finally get the Presidency, and the SE or SS will get the VP position to either make up for GEJ being ousted if the SS gets it, or to bring the SE back into the mainstream if the SE gets the VP position. It is a political victory on many fronts.

Forget all this talk about Tinubu this and that, the real battle is between the NC and NE for the Presidency and the SS and the SE for the vice presidency. This is where the real politics are playing out.

Even though I no read the long rubbish, GEJ a Southern Christian defeated GMB in 2011, without the APC, GMB would have lost to GEJ in 2019 again.

There is no one North during voting.

GMB lost in taraba, Benue, Pleateau, Abuja and Nassarawa.

Without the APC, he would have lost to GEJ in the South West, Kwara and Kogi State.

The problem with many supporters of that "man from Lagos" is that he is seeking to reap when it is not yet his time.

The SW has already gotten the presidency and VP positions respectively. The SW also currently holds considerable sway in the current administration and one can even say the SW is receiving the lion share of the infrastructural benefits.

The North under this high-jacked administration is suffering. Last week, 63 people were abducted in Kaduna and another 56 in Katsina, and 24 people abducted in Sokoto, the North is suffering because this administration was high-jacked by SW elements looking to divert all the resources to the south leaving the North in the condition we see today.

Essentially, this has turned into the administration which solely benefits the south, mainly the SW, leaving the North to be suffering most under a "Northern" president. Enough is enough....

Accordingly, the SW has had more than any other region in terms of being in the seat of power or close to power. We need to implement zoning, and the only zones yet to see the presidency are the NC and the NE.

Both of these regions are some of the worst hit in terms of neglect and this needs to be corrected in 2023. Preferably, and for equity sake, the NC should produce the presidency as it is yet to produce a president during this dispensation of democracy, instead the NC is constantly given party chairmen, when what is needed is the presidency.

We are quietly waiting for the primaries to be over, if the NC or NE doesn't emerge with the party ticket of APC, then PDP is always an option for the North, however the only problem with PDP is that they are leaning towards NE instead of rightfully allowing justice and the NC to produce the president.

Nigeria is heavily dependent on such inflows. Unfortunately, much of the capital made by the country has been diverted to infrastructural projects in the south, the 2nd Niger Bridge, Lagos-Ibadan Express Way, Lagos Blue Line and Red Line, trains connecting almost every part of southern Nigeria, port complexes being built on the Atlantic Ocean, just to name a few.

The real question is, what is left for the North? There is almost nothing left for the basics like security at a time when that is what matters the most. People are being kidnapped almost hourly, roads are not safe, schools are not safe, even life itself is not safe. It has gotten so bad, that loans are being taken out just to fortify the North and you expect the North to be happy?

As they say in the south, boys are not smiling.... what is needed is a true Northern President from the NC or even NE that will stand up to the corrupt influences in the south that want to derail the President and tell them "no." We need a true Northern President who will be alert, alive, and sensitive to the needs of the North, putting security first and not the pockets of greedy southern politicians who only care about their foreign accounts.

2023 will give us such a President. It would be wise for APC to understand this now, before PDP fields such a candidate and the rest will be history. The GDP of Lagos is up 43.6% over the last 6 years while the economy of Kano and Kaduna have stagnated. The south has gained immensely it is time for the North to have a chance.

The Ecumenical Youth Association (EYA) has faulted the suggestion allegedly made by the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu for a Muslim-Muslim ticket in the 2023 presidential election.



The organisation said for Tinubu to have taken such a position, he is greedy and does not deserve the Presidency.

Tinubu had at a recent meeting with some Northern elders in Abuja arranged by his longtime friend, Senator Abu Ibrahim, reportedly said they should leave the task of convincing Yoruba people to him if selected by the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) as the candidate of the party in the 2023 elections.


It was said that his position was that the South-West region would not be against the choice of a Muslim as his running mate.


During the meeting, the group noted that the issue of who would be his running mate became a contention as the elders told him they would not accept a Christian Northerner to be his running mate.


It added that Tinubu promised to pick a North-West politician, who would be a Muslim.


A prominent politician and former governor was said to have asked him how that would be taken in the South, and Tinubu told his guests that the South-East and South-South, who were largely Christians, would not matter, adding that it was the South-West that could raise issues, but he would handle it.


But the President of EYA, Daboikiabo Warmate said that with such a statement, Tinubu had demonstrated insensitivity and political greed.


He said, "We vehemently condemn the insensitive and greedy statement of a Muslim-Muslim Presidential/Vice Presidential Ticket credited to a former governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.


"It's so provocative and unfortunate that Alhaji Tinubu will insult the sensibility of Yoruba Christians in the same way those Northern political elites insulted Northern Christians.


"This is not just inciting and insulting to Northern and Yoruba Christians alone but also to all Christians in Nigeria.


"This has confirmed that Tinubu is very undeserving of the Nigerian Presidency. A man whose ambition is worth subjugating the over 100 million Christians in Nigeria can even one day mortgage Nigeria.


"We are presently talking (about) how Christians have become endangered species, how much more under such a person's Presidency then, we Christians will all be eliminated.


"We are compelled to believe all that is being said about him most especially, by his kinsmen. We will start a campaign soon tagged: 'Tinubu Presidency, a danger to existence of Christians in Nigeria,' because his statement has proven that.
