HacheNoire:

States don’t bare the cost of repairing federal roads. They get refunded for every federal road maintained prior to approval

Does your assertion justify the points I made. Can you point out the dualised road he is talking about at the background of his picture?

Smartini:
Why and how is Julius Berger and CCECC responsible for over 99.9% of all state and federal construction works in Nigeria? This monopoly is insane and is one of the major factors for construction project delays - how do you expect the construction company to deliver projects on time when they're working on a thousand federal roads at the same time?

There are reputable Dutch and Belgian construction giants that would rival the quality of Julius Berger and CCECC for half the money and time - Imagine abandoned road and bridge projects everywhere in Nigeria (especially in Ogun State) because these companies have to shift workers and machinery everywhere

Why the greed?

Are these reputable Dutch and Belgian companies nameless?? How about you name them, so we know which companies you are referring to.

Projects are abandoned everywhere because government does not pay its bills as at when due, not because JB is over stretched.

Your comment is stale and makes no sense....who told you FG don't award to other contractors...have you heard to Arab contractors handling sections of Enugu portharcourt and ikorodu sagamu..have you heard of RCC handling a section of Lagos Ibadan express way..have you heard of setraco that built Enugu abakaliki to cameroon Road...what about Hitech that is building apapa oworonshoki 10 lane concrete road..

Only few state governors like Rivers, Lagos ,akwa ibom use Julius berger.. Other state use other cheaper contractors that why there are big differences in their quality of infrastructure... Have you been to Abuja to see the works of JB,.. JB alone built 4 out of the 6 bridges within the island and VI...
CCECC did a great job on railways in Nigeria...
Instead of you to be happy that reputable contractors are used for the road ..you bring out a useless point...
Award all the contracts to JB....as far as you pay up well..JB will deliver all the projects in record time..go and google how JB completed the 3rd mainland bridge in record time..even the flyover bridges in rivers were all completed b4 the actual date of the contract agreement..
If there are any abandoned project by JB It simply because government refuse to pay no machine or man power anything....
Visit Onitsha and see how quick that 2nd bridge is going....they signed with FG to deliver it by 3rd quarter of 2022...and by the looks of the progress that bridge will be ready by the 2nd quarter...
Nothing satisfies Nigerians
