It's never wise to rely on 'sms alert' alone. Thank God for mobile apps. You can always confirm if the money actually entered your account before releasing your goods.

Unfortunately, most people are still backward in their thinking and ways of doing things

GIANTPLUSHUB:
These ones are learners! A sane person will have to confirm payment or receive payment in his account before allowing the customer to go no matter the pressure. Best thing is to let the customer know that you will have to confirm payment or get payment before release of the item. That way, they know they can't put you under any pressure in a bid to outsmart you.
God will not let you meet street wiser/wicked people in line.

For alert transactions that don't come, tell the buyer to wait to confirm alert. If they say they are in a hurry, tell them to come later. If they came from far, tell them to drop their account details so you can refund if the credit eventually reflects.

Don't give out your goods to customers when you ve not confirmed payment is received.

A businesswoman has shared a CCTV footage of a woman who allegedly bought items worth N132k from her shop with a fake alert in Kaduna, IgbereTV reports.

Kudiratu Asiyah Jinadu said the woman who dropped a fake number, had claimed she wanted to check one of the dresses she bought in a hotel she lodged in, but it was discovered she never lodged there. She is now seeking for any information which could help in identifying the woman.

People should stop trusting and giving benefit of doubt to certain people especially strangers..You could have insisted she'll only go if the alert enters or she drops something valuable worth almost same value as the item taken there eg her phone..

Even if they fuss and make their usual word "cos of this ordinary" stand your ground and insist you can't let go.

The country is terrible enough to now start losing goods to unsuspecting criminal elements undecided

That's the fact!
But you know this kind of thief goes to their prey looking fresh and posh, talking smooth and confident. If dem tell you say na dem get nnpc you go believe

Quite unfortunate. In Nigeria, CCTV footages may not work in identifying the woman as fast as footages from one native doctor in a remote village.
You are right but we are getting there..

You keep thinking why businesses are shutting down everyday in Nigeria.

This is one of the reasons.

Scammers everywhere. When they come around and see your shop stocked to the brim, they see the business owner as their meal ticket for that day.

"Nah him get all this shop"...

She should have confirmed the alert first and once the customer is in a hurry, the person should be a suspect.
