For some times now, street photography, a genre of photography that records everyday life in a public place has been one of the biggest aspect of photography. The very publicness of the setting enables the photographer to take candid pictures of strangers, often without their knowledge.

Though, this time, the photographer wants the people to feel his intention and the memory lasting longer with them, hence, capturing and featuring it on the streets where passersby could see and enjoy it.

Even though street photographers do not necessarily have a social purpose in mind, they prefer to isolate and capture moments which might otherwise go unnoticed which this particular photographer has decided to showcase the pictures on the streets of Oghara.
According to him, he explained that the use of pictures as instrument in depicting the lifestyles of people has been around for a long time, and has turned out to be the chosen medium in his “My People” series, with the first edition titled: “My Oghara People,".

This one of a kind inspiration is made famous by Nigeria’s award winning and internationally recognised photographer, Ayemoba Godswill during his project in Oghara Kingdom in Ethiope West Local Government Area of Delta State, Nigeria.

When speaking with the Godswill, he stated that "This street exhibition is one of the first of it’s kind in Delta state, and arguably the biggest in the country. Life size images are displayed around Lakeyard cultural centre along Waterboard road in Oghara.

"The people are availed the opportunity to be photographed and exhibited among themselves in art print sizes of 72 x 124 inches," he added.

In wetting the appetite of art lovers, he further hinted that the images will be shown in galleries around the country in Lagos and Abuja from February 2022 to April 2022.
