Agbamu: Highlights From The Year-end Holidays by Frezhboi1: 9:41am On Jan 03, 2022
It was a time of good cheer and relaxation with amazing festive activities that went down in Agbamu during the 2021 year-end holidays.

The year's annual events, held between 25th Dec. 2021 through 1st Jan. 2022 included Xmas carol, praise concert, free medical health care, games and other secular events.

A Christmas carol service was conducted on 24th, Christmas service on 25th and a table tennis match in the evening.

The praise jamz which was held on 26th/27th saw a list of praise leaders from different parts of the world amongst other dignitaries that graced the event.

A football competition (JB OLAWEPO FOOTBALL COMPETITION) between Golden Star Agbamu FC Vs Marking FC Offa took place on 27th Dec. Marking FC Offa won against Agbamu FC with a 1-0 win respectively.

An Award of Heroism was presented to Prince (Dr) Samuel Adedoyin OFR in appreciation of his dedication, vision and leadership to the development of Agbamu Community.

Free medical care was conducted in the community's general hospital on 27th & 28th, an initiative of Agbamu Descendant Union (ADU) with support from Pharmatex Nig. Ltd that donated drugs for the outreach.

The president of ADU 'Olalekan Balogun' in his words expressed his sincere appreciation to all members and everyone that made 2021 a remarkable year.

Below are summary of the achievements in 2021:

1. Formation of Agbamu Representatives:
The Light issue and other challenges in our community led to the coalition of the like minded groups (Agbamu Patriotic Front, Agbamu Diaspora, ADU, Elders Forum and some individuals) in January 2021 to provide solutions to our numerous challenges. Through this coalition, Light and water (@ some points) are restored to Agbamu. Also Education/Healthcare Support and Security Architectural Frameworks are developed. This Coalition charted a new course for Agbamu development (e.g. ongoing NSCDC Building Project) and all inclusive ACDA. Today we have ACDA we can all participate to foster unity and development in our dear community.

2. Adoption of ADU Constitution and Election of members to vacant positions:
In January 2021 AGM, we ratified and adopted proposed constitution of our great Union. And by the provision of the Constitution, there are 4 additional positions to be occupied. In April 2021 we had a successful election and members were elected to those positions. Thanks to the Electoral Committee.

3. ADU Secretariat and ICT Center:
Renovation work has commenced in our temporary Secretariat and ICT Center. Thanks to those that made this possible. Our initial plan was to commission it in 2021 December but we have to slow down to encourage our members to support the ongoing NSCDC Building Project. Now we have a target of March/April (Easter Period) to commission the place. I hereby solicit for your financial support to make this a reality on or before our target date.

4. 2021 Free Medical Outreach & Health Promotion was a huge success and the turnout was unprecedented. The program was extended by 1-day to accommodate more people. 169 people undergone general medical checkup/examination and dispensing. 64 people saw the Optician and 29 people benefited from Free Eye Glasses. At this juncture, on behalf of my team, I want to sincerely appreciate Pharmtex Limited, GHA Medical Staff, Dr. Bakare from GH Omupo even on short notice, ADU Medical Team lead by Mr. Emmanuel Adeoti and all members that contributed in cash and in kind. God bless you all. What touched me most is the prayer of the elders in the community for us. Thanks once again.

5. New ACDA Exco
In the beginning of 2021, we told ourselves, that the only way to have a formidable front in the midst of challenges bedevilling our community is to form an alliance with other like minded groups as mentioned above and foster a lasting peace, unity and sustainable development. This has yielded a positive result today with the constitution of all inclusive ACDA Exco. Now ADU has 3 representatives in ACDA Exco with 2 having portfolios. So congratulations to our representatives and you are also welcome to ADU Exco.

These are our 2021 Testimonies and we believe that with God's and your supports, it will continue to be better and better. I hereby solicit for your supports in 2022 to move Agbamu to a greater heights. Our due is still #12000 per annum and this is the minimum you can do support.
