A suspect has been killed by the Imo State police command while repelling an attack by suspected IPOB/ESN group on the Palace of Eze Imo, HRH Eze Dr E. C. Okeke at Ezioha Amaifeke in Orlu LGA of Owerri, lmo state.

The attack which occurred on Monday, January 3 left one suspect of the IPOB/ESN group dead.

The group were said to come in numbers with assorted weapons but were overpowered by the superior fire-power of the command’s tactical team leading to the death of one of the suspects while others fled into the bush with bullet injuries .

Recovered from the deceased suspect was charms tied around his waist including one ID card, one locally made explosive device, five bottled containing fuel, cash of N20, 000 and one pump action gun with four live cartridges.

The police CSP Michael Abattam who confirmed the attacked said the command's tactical teams are presently searching the bush in bid to arrest other fleeing members of the gang and to recover more arms.

He added that the Commissioner of Police Imo State, CP Rabiu Hussaini, has advised Imolites to report any person/persons seen with bullet wounds to the nearest police station or call the command's emergency numbers 08034773600 or 08098880197,
