April has more offbeat holidays than April Fool’s Day. April holidays that are meant to help everything from poor foot health to emotional overeating. The past Miss America contestants must have loved the month of April as it is also the month designated to promote awareness of genocide and human rights awareness, otherwise known as world peace.

National Foot Awareness Month

It is important to keep feet and ankles healthy, especially as it is easy to ignore foot problems until something goes wrong. Foot problems are numerous, and it is helpful to have the entire month of April to help people be more aware of the value of food and ankle health. National Facial Protection Month

Orthodontists and oral surgeons also actively promote National Facial Protection Month by encouraging patient education about the importance of wearing appropriate mouth guards when participating in sports.

National Adopt a Greyhound Month

April is also National Adopt a Greyhound Month. Adopting a dog that is built to run fast can do more give athletes a new furry friend. A greyhound is arguably a much better investment than a gym membership as dogs tend to demand exercise. Greyhounds deserve to be recognized as skinny canines with cute noses that can make great family pets. Owners that regularly run marathons can count on a new running partner that will never demand an unnecessary break, even if their new running buddy has four legs.

Celebrate April
