If govt is serious about education , they should build schools to standard and make private schools less attractive.
How can Govt control school that u did nothing to assist in their growth. Instead govt disturb them with numerous taxes and levies yet you still want to lord over them.

1. You need to carry everyone along & seek compromise; this is what you get when you dictate resumption date.
2. How many students actually resumed on 4Jan22; take the numbers and be wise.
3. These omo Lagosians don't travel to anywhere. They don't visit their ancestral homes even when they hv one. You remain in Lagos from January to December. If you don't know, many parents planned their annual vacation & travel with their children/families & return together. It s not how early/fast you resume, but how well they perform. Don't you know that schools need to restock in prep to fight Omicron Covid-419; where will they get these items & other educational materials when many businesses are on vacation?? U shld know that Lagos is trying to b a metropolitan city, not one village city.
4. So, so, locking up schools that did not open by force on 4Jan22...is that a solution... How do these people even THINK?
5. Abeg, make una take time-o-o

How do you expect families to return immediately after Festive period just to resume school.

That idea is not reasonable.
You failed it the Lagos gov.

you guys are not getting it ... Whether students resume or not , let school resume ... Most of this teachers are becoming more lazier than there students... Most of them have been on holiday since early December, almost a month and doesn't want to start work moreso, the government is not owing you... Our teachers must not be lazy

And it's not like the government even informed the schools before they went on holiday. It was last weekend the information was sent out. When families have already travelled. How do they expect schools to comply?

Lagos state govt schools are the worst as at now imagine a school where students are to come to school twice in a week or thrice smh.....how do you expect them to pass Waec sef cheesy

Too much Nigerian lifestyle no go kill you.

In the US, school is for only three days a week.

School is all about doing your own research, and not sitting in class listening to outdated researches.

If Nigeria had her way, we would be schooling in Saturdays too.

I don't understand how the government can dictate when a private business should resume or not. Can they tell Danfo drivers or pepper sellers to all resume by Jan 4th

You talk of all stake holders agreed for a unified education system and you came out and said resume 4th . Did you all agree? Or consult with them? We are Nigerians. A lot of travelling took place that period. 4th to me is being insensitive and inconsiderate.
na them agree in June 2021 I blame. SEPT to JULY calender is fine. Free them.jor

The Lagos State government is not sincere in this regard. They came to our school and met the headteacher and all the staff in the school. Yet, these people issues us with non compliance letter and placed their sticker of same accusation on our gate. Their reason being that there are no learners in the school. We told them that few of them resumed on the 4th January but declined coming to school as at 6th, January when the Quality Assurance Team came because of the low turn out. We had to do a situation report which we intend to submit to NAPPS. This is because according to the government officials, our school was specifically targeted for the visit.

Very unfortunate.

Primary and secondary school are basic education. No serious research there, whether here or in the US or anywhere. The teachers do the research for them. How many original researvhes do people do even in undergraduate degrees today?

You want proper research? Go for Msc and Phd.

Lolz. This woman smoke colorado.
U want to decide resumption date for private schools? Like, are u the one paying their bills ?
Even most Govt schools students didnt resume.
If she put same energy into developing the public schools under her, then private school wont have enough bragging right.

I have a question for her : due to covid lockdown, what did Lagos state govt do to help private schools who were starving and running at a loss ?

Alot of u are responding without really paying attention to the details in the release.there is an harmonized school calendar agreed to by govt , private school owners and other stakeholders,it had been released since November. The jingles aired on 31st December was just a reminder.Does the school your wards attend belong to an association? If yes ask them for the calendar to be more abreast
