we are saddened to report that more than 5 people have died and 15 people have been critically injured after a piece of a cliff in Brazil suddenly collapsed into the Rio Grande river. Unfortunately, the rock formation landed on three boats containing several passengers.

According to eyewitness , Brazilian firefighters in the city of Piumhi say that a sudden downpour of rain caused the rocks to dislocate and fall from more than 16 feet. A video circulating on social media shows the moment the rock made contact with the boats.

A local worker from the are told Brazilian outlet OTempo that the incident was unlike anything he had seen in the six years he's been there.
