Legend had it that a grief -striken lady was seen crying on the bridge,days before the second world war was over, many locals gave accounts of seeing her crying on the bridge everyday, her head bent, her Sari blowing with the wind but after so many days she stopped coming to the bridge and the locals there never bothered to find out why, afterall nobody knew her or had seen her face so they presumed maybe she was from another village.
On a quiet evening, the body of a young woman flowed out from the river below and the locals believe she killed herself by jumping into the river, the locals buried her still and life went back to normal and finally the war ended and as days became weeks, weeks turning into months then years, something weird actually began to happen.

It all started quietly in the summer of 1957 when the village was gradually becoming modernized, engineers were employed to rebuild the old bridge as the town was rapidly turning into a trade center. Workers reported to hear faint sobbing which began in mid afternoon, then sudden drop of temperature and sightings of an apparition of a young woman.

Then the story or perhaps rumour came up again.

some said maybe she was betrayed by a friend but many strongly believe she lost her lover in the war.
Though the bridge was finally completed but it didn't stop the spirit from appearing on the bridge, her tears more touching, drivers had reported, her stopping them and asking them for a lift ,that she was tired and also asking them if they had seen Viraj, but luckily she didn't harm anyone but people became scared of driving there because In 1987,a driver was found dead in his car, he was gagged with a red sari so it became a norm for people to stop passing the bridge at 12 o'clock mid night, and the busy bridge became silent.
But as the saying goes, people will be people.Not everybody will believe in the supernatural.

In 2011,a doctor came to live in the town with his daughter after he had a divorce with his wife. He lived in the town for three years, but then he thought his daughter needed a mother figure in her life, but he couldn't find a good woman. In October 2013,the doctor decided to come home late and though his daughter had told him of the tales she heard from her friends at school he had laughed it off but as he drove through the bridge ,the silence hanging low and deafening, his mind drove back to what his daughter told him and what he had been hearing but he waved it off besides he saw no one not even an ant on the bridge until his car jerked and stopped
