It's a real scam visit on the eve of leaving power. We have been crying about the soot in PHC since 2016/2017. And who says, it isn't eye service from the 001. He was even sympathetic with the kpo-fire operators, berating the FG for not fulfilling her promise of setting up modular refineries.

So it took you over 4 years to realise this. Some "gullibles" will still clap for him. When we started raising alarm in 2016 about this menace. Same government quickly turned it into politics..... the state government hurriedly put the blame on an Asphalt company owned by a Chinese firm that has been operating for ages without soot. The company was closed down. Jobs and revenues lost. After that, the soot didn't stop, the state government again started blaming oil companies, that they are responsible for the soot. After that he (Wike) heaped the blame on vulcanisers operating in the state, that they are the ones burning tyres indiscriminately. He set up a task force arresting law abiding vulcanisers doing their legitimate businesses. As if that was not enough, the last one he said was that it's Federal government that is deliberately killing Rivers people with soot.

In all these, he never pointed fingers towards illegal bunkering/refining activities in the creeks for whatever reasons best known to him and his government. Now that elections are around the corner, ambitions and intentions are growing.... he just suddenly realised that the menace we have been complaining of in the state are 90% due to illegal refining activities. Many people have relocated from Phc since 2017 due to this serious environmental pollution.
