Idoma Cultural Carnival started in the year 2013 with the aim of showcasing to the world the rich social,cultural and economic endowment of the Idoma nation through art,crafts and social exhibition.
the parade and other events happens during three official days of the carnival.the Carnival kicks off on the morning of the first day and stretches towards the afternoon of the same day with procession in otukpo followed by immigration from Otukpo to Apa between the afternoon and evening of the first day.
The Carnival continues with Carnival display in the morning followed by a masqurade display and distribution of gifts to widows.
The last day of the Carnival is the migration of the people from Apa back to Otukpo preceded by the face of Idoma beauty pageant.
