I wanted to believe the Ebonyians are Igbos.

The language of ebonyians is different from the Igbo language..
When ebonyi man speaks, Abia, Imo, Enugu, Anambra man will not understand and same way ebonyi man will not understand the language of the later, vice versa.
But the only understandable language uses by both tribe is the centre Igbo language which they (ebonyians) learnt..

We also have seen lots of occasions where Igbos called ebonyians osu...

We have also seen in many occasions where ebonyians said they are not Igbos...

Are the Ebonyians truely Igbos?

Of course, not everyone in SE is Igbo, some are other tribes just living there, some are there on business purpose. But, YES, Ebonyi is a South Eastern state.

Nnaa Ibu kwa Onye Ara ooo...... The same Ebonyi that was Carved out of Abia State and Enugu State. It therefore means the 2 states they were carved out from are not also Igbos.
Bros, For clarity purpose, the whole of Afikpo, Ishiagu(Ivo) and Ohaozara were carved out from Abia State while the rest of Ebonyi State including Abakaliki were carved out from Enugu State. From your false assertion It means Abia state and Enugu State were not Igbos before the creation of Ebonyi State in 1996.

Your question should not be asked on a public forum like this, you'll only expose your mental capacity.

Not logical

Kogi was carved out of kwara
Delta was carved out of Bendel
Bayelsa was carved out of Rivers

There are fundamental differences between those states now

One cannot infer anything from the fact of "carving out" it neither proves nor disproves

It is irrelevant
There are better arguments

States may be carved out because of incompatibility ,of ethnic groups e.g being treated as minority as was the case of Ikwerre in the old Rivers state
Edo and Delta were carved out of Bendel and the resultant two states are very different
