I think Nigerians are focused on the wrong thing. The next election is coming up and we are all making a lot of noise about it as if the next president will end all our troubles. But it appears deeper than that. It's very much likely that electing the next president whoever he or she is will still not bring any significant change to the country as long as we are still using the same failed governance system.

Buhari may be clueless but this is not the main reason why there is failure in governance because Buhari definitely has friends or people around him having superior knowledge, exposure and education who can supply him with loads of great ideas to govern the nation. An example is someone like the vice president who many believe is more exposed than the president. The vice president can always easily supply Buhari with some good helpful ideas. I believe Buhari listens to Osinbajo and considers his opinion. It doesn't make sense for Buhari to receive good ideas that will help the nation and increase his approval rating and appeal among Nigerians and still refuse to implement them. It just doesn't make sense. If all Buhari's well educated friends giving him good advice doesn't make any difference in the state of the nation then there is a problem somewhere.

We need to stop waiting on every election as a chance to elect the messiah. That messiah may never come. We are just wasting our time. Even if we end up electing any messiah who made small improvements it is very much easier to elect another president who will wipe off any little gains and return things back to square one. Rather than wait for messiahs we should be focused on fighting to change the way our governing system works. A good governing system guarantees steady upward progress regardless of who becomes president than waiting for a messiah to become president.

The noise we should making is push to for a change in our governing system. Please forget these elections because they will yield nothing to make the nation progress. Investing time and effort on these futile elections is almost the same as people will say youths are carried away by Big Brother Naija. We are being carried by elections that wouldn't do much to solve the problems Nigeria has been facing. Let's just focus on the core issue: the system of governance is just not working and we need to fight and change it.

It won't make any difference because the Zoo must go down.

As long as Nigeria practices this apartheid constitution called the 1999 constitution, and refuses to restructure, then nothing will change for the better regardless of who is President

@nefort,you truly understand the country's problem. But what can we do, when assembly men are not ready to make or amend laws that would reduce executive power and give power back to the people

Nothing will change until we restructure the country, were every state will manage his resources and monthly allocation end
