Nigeria is like a three legged stool with one missing and another grossly shorter than the other remaining one.

The Judiciary is totally absent and dependent on the executive which has appropriated too much powers to itself and where the legislative was supposed to check the executive, the current Lawan led NASS shamelessly admits to being a rubber stamp. The ramifications of this is a lawless Executive with a rubber stamp Legislative body and a moribond Judiciary.

It is my humble submission that before Nigeria can truly progress , she needs to know peace and that peace can only come when the rule of law is above all interests .

To give the Judiciary back it's powers, I will suggest the following:

1. The Judiciary should handle all elections and as such INEC must be under her control. Since it's the Judiciary that affirms a candidate's victory and the only body vested with powers to swear in an elected candidate, it is only fair that they be directly in control of the election proper.

To this end, only the CJN should have the powers to appoint State INEC returning officers and the returning officers must be a retired high court judge of impeccable character.
