Senator Adeseye Ogunlewe, a former Minister of Works has urged President Muhammadu Buhari to endorse Asiwaju Bola Tinubu as his preferred candidate for the 2023 presidential election, saying he won't regret doing so.


The president has been keeping Nigerians and members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in suspense on whom he prefers to succeed him. 


In a recent interview, he said he is not willing to reveal the identity of his anointed candidate for the safety of such a person as he may be eliminated before the 2023 general election.


However, speaking in an interview with DAILY INDEPENDENT, Ogunlewe said the President should make up his mind now by supporting Tinubu as his successor.


"As far as I am concerned, let President Buhari pick Asiwaju Tinubu to succeed him in 2023. He will never regret it".


Speaking on the danger of anointing a wrong successor, Ogunlewe said the position of the President of Nigeria is very powerful and as such cannot be left in the hands of a wrong person.


"The position of the president of Nigeria is very close to God. The power, influence, authority, the financial attraction, anything you can imagine is with the president of Nigeria". 


"If the president of Nigeria wants to make you a trillionaire in two days, it will happen. If he wants to impoverish a wealthy man in two weeks, he can also do it. He will put all the policies to kill your business totally. With just one pronouncement from him, your businesses are in ruins".


" The power of the president of Nigeria is too enormous to toy with.  I hear some people say the president is like a centurion in the Bible. That is the authority vested in the president of Nigeria and there is nothing anybody can do about it". 


"We have to keep on praying that God will give us somebody who loves us. If a leader loves us, his policies will favour the masses and save the country. He will do the right things despite many tendencies that will try to derail him".

Igbos open eye see such antecedent it is this sort of criminals they want to foster on Nigeria. The same fool coveted state fund to build himself shopping malls when he was governor one in Abuja n another in PH. Nemesis caught up with him with one burnt to ashes recently. Soon enough every invenment he looted from Anambra will surely but definitely burn down like that.

This is aside the numerous probe from the state n efcc etc.

Anyone who watched Buhari’s recent interview with Channels Television cannot but conclude that though Buhari still has 17 months to go, Nigeria has already frittered away eight years of national life. We have been plagued with possibly the most incompetent and the most sociopathic leader in national history.

In 2015, Buhari was hardly a promising candidate, but things were not supposed to be this bad. The man did not solve any problem but, in fact, worsened every-thing with his impotence and sadistic arrogance.

We saw the massive disgust that crossed Buhari’s face when his interviewers-Maupe Ogun &Seun Okinbaloye read out the statistics of his failure to him. He could not refute them beyond saying he was not sure their figures were correct.

If he oversaw his own regime, would he not have countered with facts and figures that showed how much he had improved the country? That was a leader Tinubu helped install twice and we are supposed to trust his judgement again?
