Should I use my dad's company account, if we use it, what are the documents that can be submitted to this effect.

After submittingitting the Visa application with the POF statement, can the money be taken out for business purposes or buying and selling.

Should my dad use his personal account, is he to explain the large sum that he might put to complete the pof.

Even though IRCC may request for an interview, did you apply for the permit by yourself? Was the invitation from an official email address ?

Hello Otumba,

1). Is not necessarily about having huge money in account. For an account that is active with a lot of inflows and outflows, it is all good. All you need is show funds to cover atleast 1year Tuition + living expenses (board and room) + others ancillary fees.

2). Usually 4-6 account statement is ok. But you can go for MBS to help reduce the size of docs to upload.

3). Good she has CAC? If it is a buying and selling, you can indicate that taxes are paid as she pays for goods. Include the business receipts/invoices etc. Using her personal account isn't bad. Just simple explanation will do.

4). You really need to submit an account of your own no matter how small it's. Using a sposnor lifts a huge POF burden off your account but that doesn't mean you shouldn't submit your own account. So do well to submit yours too. If you're following this forum, some have submitted theirs will just a token and gotten permit. Or still, you may ask your sposnor to send living expenses into your account, then do gift deed to back it up. Also try to get leave approval letter.

5). Your application is about yourself, so you don't need to dwell on your siblings. In section of family ties, you may mention him but put more emphasis on your parents and or your immediate family if you're married. If you have enough socio-economic hometie, financial ties, assets, family or organizational ties to Nigeria, it supercedes any other tie with your brother. Even people whose brother's are resident in Canada that is sponsoring their studies in same Canada got their approvals. So don't worry about it. Your SOP is your tool. So do it well and you're good to go.

All the best

Thanks bro, sincerely appreciate your input

Hello Otunbablack

Below are the answers to each of your questions to the best of my knowledge and experience with approved applicants..

1. Like I always say, in as much as closing balance is important, it is not the only thing the Visa officer focuses on in an SOA..
Another major aspect they look out for is the Inflow and outflow of the account i.e the total credit and debit of the account at the end of the stated duration of the SOA.. With this they will know how active an account is, and this will convince them further that indeed this account is very much active and not dormant.. I have worked with an approved applicant who had a closing balance of 500k with an inflow of over N150M.. But this said applicant has paid full school fess though... Just make sure your inflow is heavy enough even though you may not have millions as your closing balance..

2. IRCC requires 4 - 6 months SOA for POF..

3. Not an issue.. Just make sure she submits her Business invoice/ receipts.. And if she pays Tax for her business, then that will also be useful..

4. Why don't you wanna drop your SOA though, you should drop it. You can have your mum send you your school fees or the living expenses to your account with a detailed narration for these purposes.. Its important to submit your SOA as the applicant, even though your Sponsor's SOA will be tendered.. And sending your employment letter isn't an option, in fact you should submit all docs that relates to your JOB..

5) This is kinda dicey though cos I have seen a Visa Officer refuse an applicant cos of his ties in Canada. He has 2 elder siblings in Canada, one Citizen and the other a student.. This was stated in his GCMS notes.. And at the same time I have seen an Applicant who got an approval with hsi Elder sister who is in Canada being his sponsor.. So it depends, you can make mention of him in your Family form but do not put in deatils about him since he isn't your sponsor..

Peace
OtunbaBlack:
Alright guys I need clarity on some few things. I’m an aspirant and intend to apply later in the year, I’m trying to gather necessary documents and prepare well.

1) when you submit statement of account, is the closing balance really necessary? Cause I intend to use my mum as my sponsor and she buys and sells. Meaning the closing balance might be off. How much do you think it’s realistic to have to show POF and also must the morning be left in the account all through the duration of the visa process?

2) how many months statement of account is ok to submit.

3) my mum owns a business she has CAC but she uses her personal account run her business. Would this be an issue?

4) I work also but I don’t think using my own statement of account would work at all. Though I can easily get access to my pay slip. I’ve being working with company since early last year. I intend using my employment letter. Would it affect that I included my employment letter and not put my statement of account?

5) I have a brother in Canada, I’ll prefer not to mention him at all even as ties to Nigeria. I feel putting him in might deter my chances. What’s your take.

@ketima @makano @legacyedition @frankrobnn1 and other gurus. Over to you

Or the one done by matkowsky immigration, family of 4?.

That's the only 2 available with that given name. You can't compose a message without being sure of the date you filed notice of discontinuance. You will have to add evidence of notice of Discontinuance from court. E-G PDF of your court proceedings with the court registrar.

It’s Ogayemi, but it’s for study permit application. I sent them a web form, I attached the evidence of notice of discontinuance there.

Ok your own case is quite different. Someone I know who was invited for interview just like you was told to come along with a copy of the letter and his passport. During the interview he was only asked questions related to what he wrote in his SOP and after the interview he was told to go and that he would be informed of the outcome . But after about a week his visa was approved and he was told to send his passport .
N.B He completed and submitted his study permit application by himself.
