Refinery like aviation is a very difficult industries to make profit from ...and the Nigeria downstream sector is to violatile for any investor to risk

Let subsidy be removed ...Igbos would observe for a few years then we come in ...

we are hated too much in this country to take useless risk ...they would make laws that would favour dangote for him to succeed ...boom we would benefit from those laws

Yet,like Asiwaju Tinubu, he is hated and envied by a lot especially the ne'er do well by choice.

At the Asiwaju Tinubu Colloquium, he was full of gratitude to Asiwaju Tinubu as the one who didn't allow him to abandon this great project we now celebrate today.
He said he went to Asiwaju Tinubu and explained his predicament after HE Yardua cancelled the bid for the national refineries he had won. Asiwaju Tinubu comforted him and assure him that Lagos State will support him. Immediately, Asiwaju Tinubu started calling the people concerned and they brought out the map of the region of Lagos earlier designated for a future oil and gas hub . The rest is now history. That Dangote Refinery, according to Alhaji Dangote, GCON, is part of the legacy of Asiwaju Tinubu, a brilliant, visionary and patriotic Nigerian.

Please vote for Asiwaju Tinubu. He is extremely capable and competent to lead Nigeria to greater heights.
Thank you.
May God bless you and may God bless Nigeria forever.
Sorry ooo... I'm not for Tinubu, grand pa should go and rest

They all know this and that's they hate him. If they actually believe he's incapable of both winning and excelling they would not engage in this their campaign of lies and calumny in this overzealous manner against him. But that's their nightmare and may they never wake up from it.

1.Right about subsidy removal.

2. No one is going to make antiibo laws regarding refinery. Not when more refineries means lower prices for fuel and more jobs for all.

No one stopped Innoson or air peace ( who this goverment is treating with favour )

The joke is actually on you! What do you think is the cost of obtaining a license to build and operate? You think it’s #50m? You are talking about free trade zone. Will a free trade zone give you fixed assets, secure license? Only these would have run into several 100s of millions in naira. And you are shouting #50m? Maybe you have not done a proper studies on it. A lot of articles online clearly buttress it costs over $300m. Stop misguiding the public. If 50m naira can, every cockroach would own one. It cost just #50m which is about the cost of a Prado, yet Edo state government entered into private partnership to build one in an enterprise they own less than 10%? Huh!

your the real joker. Your thiefery politicians has blinded all of you. License, your talking about is just a piece of rubbish bureaucracies . A serious government will give investors free assess to invest in community. Go and find out how many industrialised countries take off. Imagine your looking for license money to squander. Nigeria is not a serious country at all.

Meanwhile, he issued a press statement to note that petrol price will not hit N1000 per litre on the removal of subsidy without alternative energy.

He noted that the ”Director specifically created a scenario of price instability of PMS based on the current dollar to naira differentials to the effect that if Nigeria continues to rely on the importation of PMS without creating alternative energy sources like CNG, LNG, AUTOGAS, etc. which will provide price buffers for consumers and ultimately crash the price of PMS, then the product will be subject to prevailing market forces.”

Economic illiteracy is a problem

Believing petrol price will hit 1,000 if left to market forces is simply outrageous. The price of diesel is already deregulated and it is currently 330 per litre.

How will you "ultimately crash the price of pms?'' It is absurd.

The price is influenced by the global price and not the local price. The only thing that can bring the price down is if the international price drops or if the Naira strengthens. The Nigerian price may not evenif there is a drop in the global price if there is insufficient competition on ground. Dangote was demanding a ban of imports of petroluem products once his refinery comes on stream. Only those with refining capacity will be allowed to import fuel products and they are extremely few. It is almost a one-man monopoly for now.

Also, it is not a service like telecoms where you can "crash the price. You buy at 60 and you sell at 65.

Nigeria generally is a very difficult place to do business for any and everyone, both locals and foreigners. The problems stifling businesses are not restricted to any tribe or ethnicity - Poor power supply, dilapidated transportation infrastructure, insecurity, frustrating government bureaucracies/inefficiencies fuelled primarily by corruption etc. These things militate against the smooth running of businesses across Nigeria as a whole and they affect just about everyone. Why do you (and several others) always keep isolating it as an 'Igbo issue' as though there are only Igbos in the Nigerian business sphere? This is a pure example of the self-centred attitude that makes other Nigerians resent Igbos.

You are the most ignorant fellow as far as this topic is concerned. So you will set up a refinery with capacity of 1k bpd with less than 100k dollars? Only Detailed Engineering na how much? Procurement of the components, shipping & logistics, then construction, commissioning. How about constructing the pipeline system that will deliver crude to it (for economics purposes this will not be optimal, trucking will be involved because it is 1k). Maybe na kpofire cooking you fit set up with 100k dollars

U have not done business before trust me ..power has nothing to do with business...runing diesel engine is way cheaper than NEPA

With the ban in BDC and Forex trading how many times have police raided aboki still selling dollers ? Would it be the same if it was Igbo dominated business ?

Use and Hausa name to import a goods and use and Igbo name to import the same goods then tell me if u would pay same clearing fee

Try to import through northern border and then try same goods in southern border tell me the difference

Go to bank of industrial with and Igbo name then go to same bank with Hausa name then come back ..same with nafdac ,son ,

Carry goods to the east as an Hausa man then do same as an Igbo man

Come back then let's talk

None functioning of eastern ports is what

All the road federal linking ABA to south south cites are bad ...

I can go on and on

The UK currently has seven refineries. They are all located near port facilities to ease crude tanker access.

Canada is home to 15 refineries, all of which are operated by Canadian Fuels members and represent the country's refining capacity.

The Company's Refining Unit operates 13 major refineries in the Russian Federation:

There are six refineries in the country - four on the coast and two inland. Crude oil is refined at South Africa's four crude oil refineries.

NIGERIA WHAT DO YOU WANT TO DO WITH 70 REFINERIES OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
