Hello Friends,
Many people complain of their wound isn't healing well or it's taking too long or infected; they eventually present to hospital where they part with good money due to lack of basic Wound Care.

Below are some well researched medical advice.

1. Clean wound immediately with clean water and mild antiseptic such as Dettol or Savlon.

2.Make sure your are fully vaccinated against Tetanus and get a tetanus booster shot ( especially for deep wounds from dirty area, nail or soil)

3. Avoid putting dirt, cow dung, procaine powder, ampiclox powder or urine on the wound. They delay wound healing and only introduce infection.

4. If you must apply anything, pure honey can be applied as it promotes wound healing.

5. AVOID APPLYING HEAT OR HOT WATER TO THE WOUND!!! This only disrupt the wound healing process and it's tied to poor cultural beliefs

6. Leave wound dry as much as possible.

7. See your healthcare provider for further care, such as antibiotics, pain relief, minor surgery or specialist care.
