About 137 startups from all over the world will take part in this year’s Y Combinator Winter program. By continent, these are North America (63), Asia (38), Europe (14), South America (11), Africa (cool, Central America (2), and Oceania (1). Five Nigerian firms – Dojah, Identitypass, Moni, Topship, and Touch and Pay – are among the African cohort. Ghana, Uganda, and Ethiopia also produced one firm each for this batch.   

Dojah
Dojah provides unified KYC and digital onboarding solutions. These include liveness checks, biometric verification, and OTP validation. It aims to help African firms develop and innovate to influence more lives through technology.   Tobiloba Ololade and Ayomide Oso founded the company in 2021. They had identified some issues in the identification and verification process in Africa. So, Dojah helps to ease this process through easy access to Application Programming Interfaces (APIs).   These APIs include government and financial data and advanced machine learning models. They help businesses can scale easier through seamless data identification, verification, and
